I need help with stopping. Oxycontin is my enemy, please help....

Hey guys, I haven't been back here in a few days because I started using again, but I have come to the conclusion that I need to, not only because its not healthy, but I don't even enjoy it anymore when I'm using.  I used methadone the last time I stopped, I took 5-10 mg a day for 4 days and it worked very well, I was just too stupid to realize that I needed to stay clean. But now its very hard to find methadone on the street so I'm going to buy some oxycontin, split it up into 10mg a piece and take 1 or 2 a day, hopefully that will do it, I don't know, if you have any advice, please get intouch with me, thanks again, I appreciate all of you time and I hope to god this works.  Please let me know what you think.

I did find out I am pregnant for sure, i have stopped using since yesturday, it's been hard, but i have a cold and that kind of blocks a lot of the withdrawl symptoms. I am and was worried about any damage done to this baby. i guess this is a "wake up" call for me to stop using and abusing presrciption drugs.
does anyone know how long it takes for the narcotic to completely be out of your system? And also does anyone know if the amount of vic's i was taking over a period of 3 weeks taking about 10/day of the 5 mg. and also sometimes taking somas 3-4 day occasionally with the vic's if that would have done any damage to my baby? or is it more damaging if done later in the pregnancy? i m 6 weeks approx. in pregnancy, and of those six i was using about 4 wks.

bugslife...it takes about a week for the withdrawal symptoms to end, though the worst is over in 4 days, and it took me a month or so before the listlessness was over.  I don't know about how the meds you took would affect the unborn baby..that is a good question for a doc! Does your Doc know what you were taking? It might be a good idea to take a deep breath and tell him or her what you were taking so they can either reassure you or advise you on what the risks are. I truly have no clue.

Congratulations on the baby.  12 years ago I found out I was pregnant, almost 5 months along.  All my life they told me I would never have a baby (long story) so I had no idea, no symptoms.  The problem was that aboout 9 months earlier I had come down with Eastern Viral Encephilitis (Cin you know how bad) which is usually fatal.  Long story short during my recovery I was on morphine, percocets, dilauded for extreme pain.  I was still taking these meds up till I found out I was pregnant. I was on a very large dose.  But the drs were concerned about other meds also, and kept me on some of the pain meds.  I knew no better and was so far along.  Well,  I had all the tests, amnio, CVS, everything.  I had a very healthy boy born 5 weeks earlier (c-section) because of other high risks.   I was still on a few percocets aday until he was born but chose a morphine implant because of nursing.  My son just turned 12 and is as normal and healthy, if not more than most children his age.  I am no dr, and strongly urge you to see one and get these tests, but  I do believe God does work miracles.  I had another healthy boy, just 13 months later.  So I believe you will be ok, I will pray for you.

WW and everyone.  I will talk with you soon.  I have had a very bad week with the ex (oxy and meth addict) calling and harrassing me.  One minute he's all nice and missing us, the next I feel he's stalking me by phone.  I have a feeling he is jonesing and his sources dried up.  His dr went overseas on an emergency for at least a month.  Well I guess he will be paying street prices.  Talk with you all soon.  Love and Prayers....Susanlea

I don't know what you are detoxing from but I must warn you that oxycontin is very very addictive. You might want to try something less potent in that family.  I detoxed off of Heroin with Darvacet 100 and although I hated them, they got me through it.  What ever you do, best of luck and don't be so hard on yourself.  love, Telby

Good luck with your detox.
Methadone is easier to detox with because it stays in your system for so long.  That's what many rehabs give you to detox with, usually within 4-5 days just like you did.
The oxycontin leaves your body sooner, so it won't be as easy as your methadone detox!!!
Best of luck to you.  Ease as much as you can so you're not tempted to go back to using again because it got too tough!

From what I have read, the methadone method seems to be the best, but does anyone know a way to get it online through the various pharmacies?  I signed up for one of those services that gives you all the names of pharmacies or docs who will "diagnose" you online and then send you vicodin, but what I want it methadone to get off the vicodin and then say goodbye to both forever.  If not online, can anyone help me with info about methadone clinics?  Is this some huge bureaucratic process that will end up on my permananent record?  All I want is enouagh methadone to do the 4-5 day detox gig and that's that.  I would appreciate any help with this from my knoweledgeable friends here.

In my opinion methadone is safe only if you have a Doc. who minitors you. Don't be a fool and think going to the street to buy is O.K. What are you thinking? You have no idea what is in it, unless you are a chemist. I doubt it, cause you wouldn't be asking. Find a good, supportive doc. who has knowledge regarding detox. I have done a lot of research so far and am a week away from beginnning a 10 day detox. You are on the right track. Ask more questions. It helps. So does Valium and a positive attitude!!!!
