I slept -- I actually slept???

About 7 hours sleep -- phew! I needed that!!! I don't even know what day I'm on... Let's see I had my last pills last Sun so today is my 8th day.. Ok... That's nice.. I'll take that but I've been here before so now it's about aftercare, for me and working the program so I don't EVER HAVE TO DO THIS AGAIN!!!! Anyway -- I will be getting to meeting today or tomorrow with my friend... I also have a ton of work to catch up on and a ton of love to give back to my family not to mention the gym --- I used to be a boxer and have not laced it up in any meaningful way in  10 years.. so I'm going to back to the gym to get back (which my wife.. bless her soul set up for me) into shape (too old to fight again 43 but I can train my *** off) ... Anyway, right now I'm feeling great wondering how anything synthetic could ever replace the euphoria I feel now, but because I've been at this point before I KNOW what's lurking out there waiting for me with open arms and a smile, I know what I'm feeling now can turn dark in the blink of an eye... Especially in these early stages where day 15 can all of a suddenly  feel like day 3, it's always going to be there it never leaves but this time I feel ready and prepared to battle... I'm not leaving this forum and I'm going to work a program and embrace my addiction and use it for good -- not evil!! I going to face this down the only way I know how and that's by sticking and moving -- jab, right, slip, left hook!!!

LOVE these updates!  No words for you cause your rocking this thing every which way but loose. I will just say I woke today completely euphoric as I got out of the shower, looked in the mirror at a healthy person instead of a shadow. There is not proper written test to explain how good it feels inside and out to be off drugs. Just surreal. Keep the good going.

I agree with OpenMind....seriously....print this post of yours.....it will be such a great help to have it handy and go back and read it.

I didn't find MedHelp until I was 55 days clean....BUT during those first 55 days I wrote in a notebook every single day and night.  It has been a HUGE help to me all along the way.  When I was 9 months in and didn't think I'd made much progress....all I had to do was go back and read those how I was those first 55 days.

Glad to hear you're serious about aftercare this time....and getting back to training/boxing......knock em out (the enemy/addiction) and strengthen the mind, body and spirit (recovery).  Congrats on 8 days!!

Copy this post and frame it! Read it every day! It's a great testimonial to the willingness you now have to rise above your addiction (who is also in the gym training!). Hang on to this feeling and the sky's the limit!
