I think I'm over medicated

Well as you know I started the suboxone on friday the 16th. I think this 24mg of this stuff is really sedateing me and zoning me out. I never tried herion before but I think this is what it may feel like??? So tommorow I'm cutting back to 15 mg. I have't to. This drug is wonderful and all and I can't feel any withdrawls and can't feel any pain, but how can function like this ???  Not me. What in the hell is in this suboxone that is so powerful??? I thought I read all about it.Look's like I was missing something??? Anyone know????

We told you yesterday that your dose was obviously too high.. You probably need half as much as you are taking. This stuff also builds up due to the long half life.. So taking 24mgs a day means that the day after you take it you have 48mgs in your systemn easily. That is alot. It is possible to overdose on Sub. Its not as easy as with full agonist opiates but it is possible and its very hard to reverse a overdose on Buprenorphine.

I told you yesterday that I thought you were taking too much. You lied to him because you were afraid that he wouldn't give you enough.

Please be careful. This is a program and it is important that you follow it.

Well I never lied about my miss use in my pill addication. Only had one doctor and that was my pain doctor. Never went doctor shopping to scared. Now my husband on the other hand has had 25 surgerys, and is now in a major one. That's were I got all my extras. Why would I lie to a suboxone doctor I don't even know his territory about this suboxone stuff.Just from what I've been reading and the stuff they gave me at my app. But I will call my doc. 2-morrow and let him what's been going on.

As I had mentioned to you before your use was not that high, when compared to others using this medication. Do you realize that 1mg of suboxone is equivalent to 50mg of morphine, That would be morphine taken orally, I would try taking. The suboxone effect your experiencing is in no way even close to the high produced heroin. I think you may have exaggerated on the actual use of norco hoping to get a higher dose prescribed. I am not saying that this is what happened Tammer but it is done a lot by mostly addicts trying to get on methadone and their dose higher than they actually required as methadone dose produce a high. Are you feeling any euphoria?
I would try 8mgs every 10hrs for a total of 16mgs per day. But avisg is right your DR should be notified, Don't you also take a benzo? Maybe not. Good luck on finding the correct dose----------NOAH

please please listen to me!  i do not know much of ANYTHING - - but when i started subuxone i was totally feeling higher than i was taking hydros/percot/etc - - - so my dr & i went down & down and foung i could deal with a very low amount.  2 mg 2x a day.  that is pretty low i think - - i am only on day 5 but i even tapered down from that low dowsage (i relapsed for a few days at the end, but that is confusing)

If you're being sedated..then it's too much. Take the least amount that alleviates the wd symptoms. I take it in 2mg divided doses throughout the day. I take a 2mg every couple of hours..16mg for the first 4 days..then down to 12 or so. Take it slow..sedated is not good.

Call the doctor tomorrow tell him how you are feeling ....He will probably cut you dose back at bit.
