I want to quit

I want to quit

I drunk the Actifed compound (codeine) for over 10 years.
From March, 2010, I started to take zopiclone at the same time, the maxinum I had taken was 16pills/day and now I was taken 8-10pills/day.
I found that I got weight loss, weakness, non stable mental all the days.
I want to quit all of them but it seems very difficult because everyday I had to work for money.
Could anyone tell me some good ideas to quit them? It would be very appriciate. thank you.

You need to quit cold turkey; that is the only way you get your life back. We are all here for you if you want to do it. The other alternitive is if you don't stop is death. So you need to make a decision, do I want to live without drugs or do i WANT TO DIE WITH THEM. I hope you make the right coice but that is up to you.---God Bless Rick

Thank you quitinoxys, It must hard to as cold turkey because I don't want anyone to know that, I must back to the office as usual. It seems more possible to quit within a specific period, moreover, I will get married on next month and I faithfully hope that I could be successed before the wedding day.
Of course I prefer to live without drug, you are a very nice guy, thank you.

Actually, it's not a good idea to quit zopiclone cold turkey as it acts in a similar manner to a benzo & quitting CT from a year's use at a high dose could risk seizures & will probably be pretty uncomfortable.

Quitin is right about the risk of continuing to take these drugs.  In combination at these doses, there is a strong risk of respiratory depression, i.e. you may stop breathing, as happened to Heath Ledger, among others.

By all means just stop the Actifed but for the zopiclone, ideally see a doctor to get a taper schedule prescribed.  If your doctor is not familiar with tapering zopiclone, Dr Ashton has a reliable schedule at http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/bzsched.htm.

Check out the link to the Thomas recipe on the bottom right hand side of this page.  It has non prescription remedies which can help you feel functional sooner.

Best wishes.

Thanks for Madtram, I never imagine that it needs so long time to quit when I start to take the Zopiclone.
Just read the another message from Rick, Rick: R.I.P for your father, hope that we could do what we want to do

so just quit the actifed and for now keep on taking the zopiclone, you can sort that out later with a dr. maybe, there are things to help you through your withdrawals, make sure you drink plenty of fluids, get some imodium (immodium) for any stomache problems, hot baths will also help, keep posting to let us know how your doing, best wishes,    sudie
