by FAITHFUL74, Jan 29, 2008 08:23PM
Okay... I am 3 weeks clean of hydros completely. I jumped on the scales today and I havn't for probably a month or so, but, I have gained 6 lbs. in I know 4 weeks... is this normal? I know I used to eat enough to take a pill then I had enough energy to run me to the point that I didn't get hungry, what is up with this weight gain?

Alright no one is responding does this mean no one can relate to this and that it is not common to put on some weight after quitting??? I'm worried about this actually.

I have heard that other have also gained weight after getting clean. I am just the opposite, I gain while using and lose when clean.  I am sure others will respond soon. Alot of addicts don't eat so the pills will have a greater effect. It could be just like quiting smoking , most people gain weight after.

I put on a few pounds,,,, Its normal, your body starts to want the food again because you are not all hoped up on the meds! You will balance out and it will stop! it might just take some time! =)

Yes. To a degree... I mean on the pills I was like a wiz at housekeeping and I ran around like the energizer bunny just doing stuff all the time. Now... I dont have that kind of energy and I do believe I have started eating more junk because I lounge around more...

Well, I am 9 months post-pardom and had lost most of the baby fat and now I am gaining again...I was slightly overweight before I became pregnant but went back to my usual size within a few months, now I've gone up at least 6-7 lbs. in 3-4 weeks. Thats huge!!!!

I don't know.  Everyone must be different.  I gain when  Iuse because I eat a lot.  When  I quit I lose my appetite and always have an upset stomach.  I think it just affects everyone differently.
