Ambien is similar in some chemical chains to benzos...but CT is usually ok..aint gonna sleep good for a bit tho/as mentioned,,,we r all different and as a rule ambien and lunesta can be stopped ct but not without loss of sleep if a person has been taking it for a while...these 2 drugs are very similar and are considered "kin" to benzos...neither helps induce sleep as a rule when anxiety is involved..and benzos will
Most who have a narcotic and benzo issue stop the narcotics first//comparing it looks as if ur benzo use outweighs ur narcotic use...we r all different..benzos never appealed to me as far as abusing..narcotics did cos i got nrg from them...but i know peeps who take a xanax to wake up each day
Narcotics can be stopped ct..the benzos can not be stopped CT safely..do u have a doctor who prescribes u these medications?  I am thinking there r not too many drs who would RX this amount of benzodiazepines so perhaps u r buying them?   a 100 mg a day hydro habit would also be hard to keep up daily in a legal fashion as well?
If a dr does not RX u these meds then u need to find someone who cn help u get off of them as comfortably as possible...100 mg of narcs is do-able alone/not a piece of cake but do-able...the benzo doses u r taking is substantial...
ativan is the second strongest benzo after xanax on the market//klonopin is ranked very closely with ativan...altho valium has a reputation it is actually weak on the benzo spectrum..it was the first introduced on the US market and is by far, not the strongest of the benzos....XANAX is the King Dog in the benzo world..with Ativan and klonopin with a close 2nd..the fast onset and short duration of action is what makes xanax so addicting...
The health pages r full of great info....a plan is often the first step to recovery..u may have to change ur plan a few times as time goes on,  but educating urslef and seeking support will never fail u
keep psting

My bad on saying you can stop the ambien cold turkey. I didn't realize it had benzo like qualities. That is why it is always best to get your final advice from your doctor as we give advice from our own experiences. I stopped it without a problem but we are all different. I should have checked with my doctor before stopping!!!!!

I think the fact that you are wondering if it's too much means it is too much!  Follow the advice above and taper off of the benzos -- if you go ct it could be very dangerous and most likely you'll  increase one medication trying to get off of another.
If you are able, you'd be a good candidate to go inpatient where they can titrate you off of everything (it will take 7-14 days, depending on your use).  I know a great place that will keep you comfortable  -- contact me if you want more information.  Good luck.

I wouldn't stop the ambien CT either, it's a benzo like med and the risks are the same as for benzos. Please go see your dr and talk about a tapering plan.

If you think it's too much, then it probably is. Are you considering getting off of these meds? The vicodin and ambien can be stopped all together as long as you don't have any underlying health conditions. The valium and ativan must be tapered very slow and under a doctors care. There are risks involved if one tries to stop those all at once. Can you go to your doctor and have him advise you of how to taper off of these meds? It is much safer having a doctor monitoring during the detox process.
Be sure to stick around this forum. You will get so much support and encouragement.
Best of luck!
