i would say no... i just saw your other post in which you state you just recently started taking xanax. It is a new drug to your body. Mixing benzos and opiates can be deadly. Thats what half (or more ) of these celebrities have been dropping dead from over the years (and of course many, many more normal people too ). Anna Nicole SMith, Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson (although it's not official yet), etc.     And are you taking 2-3 lortabs at one dose? or spread out thru the day? if you are taking them all at once, you definitely should not be taking the xanax with it. you might go to sleep and never wake up again.  what dose is your xanax btw? Ive been on it for many years so I know a thing or two about it (and opiates as well)

In general mixing benzo's with opiates can be very dangerous, espcially if you've just started taking xanax. As you probably know both are CNS depressants, so anytime your mixing those kind of drugs you run a certain risk. The majority of overdoses due to opiates also involve benzo's, if not even more to the cocktail, like sleeping aids. If your going to start mixing xanax in I would advise you to start on the lowest effective dose of xanax, try not to use for too long because benzo w/d's can be just as awful as any other. So just be careful, take a little bit and wait 45-60minutes to see how it affects you before you try taking more, it always better to be safe than sorry. Just on the ending note regardless of what your taking these medications for  there are other ways to deal with pain, anxiety issues, sleeping or even if your just a recreational user. My advice is to get away from the xanax, just do your research about all the various consequences a xanax addiction can bring to you. Its all up to you,  but if I were you I would nip this in the butt before you got another addiciton on your hands. Again though if you choose to use the xanax seriously start low and see how it affects your ability to function properly. You'll find that the xanax will intensify whatever feeling you get from the lortabs which is another reason you should think about this one because it so easily could turn your lortab addiction into lortab/xanax combo addiciton which will only complicate matters. Whatever your choice is let us know how things go, either way were here for support. I wish you the best of luck, take care/
