Does your OB know about this?  Did you just stop cold turkey?

Hey there! This is not a good situation for you and the baby.. its actually more harmful to your baby to stop ct like that. You need to let your dr know about this if he don't know so he can do what needs to be done. Your baby is at risk stopping like that, I'm not trying to scare you but I'm concerned for you and your baby.. please keep posting!

Telling my doctor is out of the question. He is the judgemental type and i dont want to take the chance of losing my first baby. I am 32 weeks as of today and have been sober for 5 days now. I slowley got off of them. I was taking 6 to 8 7.5 lortabs a day but kept minimizing it then just quit. For the first couple of days i was extremly tired but thats the only sideeffect i've seemd to notice. Baby seems to be moving as normal now im just so scared somthing will be wrong with him like withdrawls. I was told that women were prescribed tabs during pregnancy for pain so me knowing that didnt even think it would effect my baby. But then i came across something that said opiates make your babies have withdrawls when they are born. So i stopped but they say stopping c.d like that can effect the baby so i weaned myself off. Please im desperate for anwsers! I dont want to lose my baby..!

Even though its not recommended that you take things into your own hands, it does sound like you did this as best as one could..Your baby from what I have read would have been feeling some of the effects of the withdrawal process you were going thru..If your 5 days and feeling pretty good, I suspect the worse is over and you should not fear over this..As to the baby being born with wd's, I believe thats isolated to cases where a mother was using right up to the end and was actually in the process of withdrawing when the baby was born..I'm sure you will pick up a few more comments soon from more experienced female members, but I think everything will be ok..Your a couple days past the worst that could be in the bad withdrawals...:)

If you quit 5 days ago the last thing to get back on track is your mental state. I think you got off them the best way you can for you and your baby. You didnt replace one drug for another. Try and breath deep and not worry for just a couple minutes. Im no doctor. You may want to try and call on the phone and talk with a doctor to ease your mind. You did what a good mom would do. I dont think you have much to worry about other than staying off the pills.

Ever since i got pregnant i guess you could say i put shame on my family so now im on my own and have noone to talk to about these things. The last thing i wanted to lose is my baby, the only thing i got left. You guys did help relieve some of my stress. Thanks for responding!

I am sorry to hear you are alone during this.   There is no shame in getting pregnant and hopefully your family will come around.  I hope you stick around here.      sara

you should disclose the info to the doctor. Just the stress alone of if you have harmed the baby will drive you crazy.  I did cocaine through almost my entire pregnancy, small amounts but I was an addict. The stress of what I was doing to the baby , would it be healthy, addicted, retarded.  What was I doing to my first born.  I came clean, for the remainder of the pregnancy with the help of NA and a counselor. Unfortunelty my sobriety did not stick after my child was born, but she was a healthy happy baby and I count my blessings everyday for that.
Go to a counselor or na meeting if you dont want to let you ob know, but get help for you and the baby.

The development of the human body during development is complex but stronger than any of us can imagine.  From what I hear the worst is behind you, now all you can do is give the baby the best nourishment and environment possible to combat anything that the drugs may have done.  Foliac Acid is great.  Remember that the baby is being made from everything that you consume, so think about your child growing an arm and whether you would want what your are consuming to be apart of that.
