I'm going to throw another answer out there for you that maybe it isn't TMJ. It could be. But, Starting about day 7 of my wd from Norco my left cheek bone started hurting. It hurt on up towards my forehead. I thought maybe it was a sinus infection but the only thing I did for a few days was take some alka-seltzer. It lasted maybe 4 or 5 days. It really did hurt and caused a headache.
I think that when we are withdrawing, even our bones hurt. I think its an inevitable side effect for some of us.
As far as the wrong time to quit the pills, I think that any time is the right time. Taking one step at a time is the only way, or at least that's my experience.
Good luck.
Lisa
Oh yeah right around the panic attack is when i slowed down on the pills..the headache made me paranoid but i think it was the stress...i think it was the wrong time to quit the pills but i guess it must have really shocked me into consiousness...
Did your head feel heavy when you laid down...i feel like i have a sinus infection but i don't ..they checked...Do you think the dizziness is residual from the pills...I had my first headache like this on November 29 and that sent me straight into a panic attack...i had such a bad headache that night..they brought me to the ER and checked me and said it was anxiety...i think i worked myself up for nothing ..anyhow i feel a little bit better today but still have that anxiety in my chest and my legs are hurting..i did chew nicotine gum for three years ...just stopped that about 3 weeks ago too...cant win at all...lol
Hi mommy, I too, have TMJ and when one quits smoking or chewing the gum, I forget which is your case, your facial muscles have to realign and that's some of why your face hurts so much. I quit smoking 8mos ago and my face hurt something awful until the muscles resettled into the non smoking position. If you have a nightguard, you might consider wearing it for a while.
You're doing great and sounding better today!
I think as the stress lessens your TMJ will subside especially since you've had some history with this. All the anxiety is sure to have an effect on that. Hang in there - you're doing better than you think you are! Still rooting for you! :) I know you can do this!!
Thanks guys and yes gnaly i sure am!!Its like a triple whammy!!If i did not have the neck and face pain today i would have actually had a good day..the dizziness i think is what sets me off and starts off my anxiety and forget it..i think the worst...lol...anyhow i was diagnosed with TMJ about 12 years ago and it went away but i think it has come back to bite me it the butt!!its probably the stress of it all..i just pray that it goes away too! take care everyone
coming off narcotic effects you vision in a lot of ways the tv guide chanel seamed blury to me then I started having double vision in one eye then the other...I actually thought I had a brain tumor on my visual cotex because it was going from eye to eye thats a brein thing not an eye thing after some time it goes away....you poor thing your getting hit with all of it believe me I know the feeling went the same way for me..........Gnarly
Tension makes TMJ flare up...concentrate on relaxing your jaw muscles or u could be grinding them at night. I have this problem and can make for a headache. I use a bite piece at night sometimes to take the tension off when mine gets bad.
good luck to u...
I have a feeling that i am clenching my jaws and its killing my face!!!I am going to definately invest in a mouthgard as soon as i have the money...i think its cause me to have TMJ...ugh just what i need...another problem! anyhow is very disorienting on bad days...its happened for the past two days and i think thats whats affecting my vision..i hope it goes away!
I agree with the clenching your teeth ...take a few minutes and watch yourself in the mirror and see if your jaw mussels start to extend from the sides of your face in fornt of but near your ears...I suffer this and it makes my jaws hurt buy the end of the day on bad days
I have to force myself not to clench down on my teeth to avoid this...check it out and see if this ant the problem........Gnarly
I think Katrina's advice to you in your earlier post about this was good. Getting a dental guard is a good idea. Your probably clenching your teeth in your sleep or even awake without realizing it.
