In desperate need, day 3 off vicodin

I am on day 3 with no vicodin. I was taking about 9 per day for the last year. PLEASE someone tells me it gets easier. My brother took his own life a few years ago and one of his problems was pills. I have an AMAZING support system. My mom has taken time off work to be with me. My grandma and dad are also here with me. I need help and support so bad. I feel so blah and literally can't eat due to zero appetite. Thankfully I have zero cravings and the last thing I want is a vicodin. Please someone tell me it gets better and I'll find energy again?!

I am just scared when I wake up ill have no energy :( I have to at least do my makeup and look presentable. I am soooo blessed I was able to quit my job and have my family take care of me emotionally and financially. My parents own a gas station and my dad will be there all day tomorrow. So only from 10-2 am I working.

Wow 5 days that's amazing!!! I'm only on day 2 so I'm completely dying but oddly enough I found that working is better, as it forced me to move around and not sit around n mope. Good luck tmw

Try really hard to get through it. You will feel so much better after. Yes, you may be tired and may be sore, but it will feel great to accomplish that task!  I will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Yes day 5. Tomorrow I am working 4 hours at my family gas station. If it's too much my parents will have me come home of course. But I'll see how it goes. Kinda nervous :(

You are on day 5 correct? To answer your question, you are probably through the worst of it. You should slowly start feeling better each day. It's a gradual process. It is not where you will wake up and like magic you feel wonderful. You should make slow and steady progress. There will be ups and downs. One day you will feel good, and the next day you will feel down. That is the process. You have to stay strong and focussed on your goal. Remind yourself of the reasons you chose to get clean. Keep your mind active. If you sit around and mope, you will not feel better. This takes effort. But, it is worth all of the effort. You can do this!

Yes, the weight loss is normal. Your body is releasing everything. I too lost a lot of weight that first week or so. Make sure you are replenishing the nutrients through food and drink. Protein shakes, yogurt, soup, toast, etc... Glad you are feeling better. The more active you can be, the more it helps with the lack of energy. Sounds strange, but it's true! Take care.

Please just take some deep breaths and trust the process. For some they bounce back quicker then others..There are many reason why..It depends on age, health, how long of using, how much you used (mgs) in a day, and how many meds you came off of at once. I am 57 and came off of 3 meds at once and it took me a long time. I have 400days today and come to the conclusion that Vit/Min, Diet, Water, Electrolyte drinks, and Exercise is the key..This will not happen over night but it will in Time..With Time comes patience. You will experience different stages but if you just except them and not try to panic they will pass. All of the things I said above is going to help get this Transmitters/Chems etc. back up where they are suppose to be..Even if you do all of this just remember it takes time for all of this to kick in. You will keep turning corners and each corner is better then the last..Go with it do not fight it.
Bless

Yes.. You have to eat and drink anyway. Your body needs what your starving it off especially when it's detoxing. If you just can't eat or drink, try some vitamins and some Gatorade. It's easier said than done I know. Still dealing with it. It does get better. Your probably in the worst of it.. You should start making some slow improvements. Just know you didn't get there over night so it takes some sacrifice and hard work. Your so worth it. So is your family. Don't give up!!! I know this is hard but the worst thing I found was just laying around and doing nothing. When I move around even when I have  no energy it made me feel better. Get out, walk or do something to get your mind off of withdrawls.. Find some routin that works and do it over and over. One major thing you have is the support from your family. To some that's half the battle trust me. Been there when all was fed up and tired of me. It's not worth pushing your family to a decision to give tough love and let you figure it out on your own. Take so much advantage if being with your family.. Sounds like you already know that. You can do it.. Take your life back..

Listen, to be honest it's a fight to have and keep any kind of energy. I've detoxed off of opiates and I'm detoxing off of suboxone. I'm 34 with loads of responsibility. I understand how it feels to be down and need to be up. I'm a boss at work and have 3 kids at home with a supportive wife who works out of town. I take b12 and it helps with energy. DO NOT LET THE DOC TALK YOU INTO SUBOXONE. It's way worse than opiate withdrawl for me at least. You can do this I promise. I'm on day 9 from 2 mg a day .. That was so stupid. Didn't wing much at all. If you've made it this far push through . It will take a couple more days to feel like eating or drinking. I'm still struggling with it. Make yourself anyway even if it's a v8 or Gatorade . Don't eat a lot of unprocessed food. With your support which is so awesome, they can help you eat and drink right. Flush the opiates out of your body. I know how you feel, you just really don't have the motivation to do nothing. Take hot showers or baths, watch movies, listen to music and Aleve helps me to knock off the edge.. Most of all pray that God will help you to be an overcomer. Take your life back.. Sobriety doesn't come easy but your strong enough to overcome this addiction. Just think when it's over no more withdrawls. That's what I keep saying. I actually had a little energy today to run my job. Not much!! I don't ever want to do this again. I'm a big guy and I been eating like a bird. We're here for you. Not sure what you listen to but a song called overcomer by Mandesa is great motivation.. I'll be praying for you. Through God all things are possible. Get your life back.

Hi Shawnee! You should start feeling a bit better soon, and better each day. Have you tried getting outside for a short walk? I know it may be the last thing on your mind right now, but if you can do that it will really help with the fatigue! I would go out on my patio and water my plants or just sit outside for 30 minutes each day. I always felt better. The more active you can stay, the more it helps with the fatigue. You may have to force yourself. Also, stay nourished. As was suggested, Ensures or Boosts are good and will help with vitamins. Take care! You will get through this.
