Vicki is right, it is good that you started again. I hate saying that, especially with the determination you showed. A slow dilinerate taper and alternative plan for the migraines is in order. Keep us posted on your progress. I knew lots of people taking barbiturates in the late 70's and early 80's. It's easy to underestimate the power of those drugs.
Thank goodness you went back on it...seriously. I'm sure you felt terrible. Just stay where you are now until you find a doctor to help and be sure he knows about Fioricet...The taper must be slow, dropping small amounts at a time. We're glad you posted back-
Thanks you so very much for responding to my post I am taking their advise it was so very scary and I felt no one understood and I am so thankful that you all do / I will keep you posted and I thank you again this is a wonderful helpful site!

If you go into your recent posts and click on it, it will take you back to that post. I know it's hard to concentrate, so wanted to make sure you saw these responses.
What dose were you taking when you quit 6 days ago?
Hi there! Please listen to and take the advice that Weaver and Vicki gave you. If you have any Fiorecet, start taking it and get to see your doctor. Either way, see your doctor as soon as possible. Quitting cold turkey can be very dangerous. Take care, and let us know what happens.
Hi- Weaver gave you great information about Fioricet....Do you get this from a doctor?
Never, never, never stop this medicine without tapering down first. Stopping abruptly will cause you to feel just like you're feeling now and the risk of seizure is GREAT.
I advise you to go back on Fioricet right now. Then, talk to your doctor about how to taper off. If you don't have a doctor, just know that you need to taper off slowly by dropping small amounts over a period of time. You're in a pretty serious situation right now and I know this from experience.
Floricet is a barbiturate and is similar to phenalbarbitol, benzodiazapines. It should be tapered down to a low dose before stopping and is recommended under a doctor's supervision. The potential detox sysmptoms can be very severe. I would suggest you speak to your prescribing doctor to get a taper plan for this drug. If your doctor is not willing or competent, I would find another doctor to help and find alternative meds for you headaches. It is common for tolerance to build and dosage has to be raised. Another medication or alternative treatment will help with rebound headaches, headaches that happen from you dependence on this medication. Please be careful with stopping barbiturates suddenly.
