Insomnia from Hydro W/D

I stopped Hydros after 6 weeks of very heavy use CT on July 4. Last night was the first night of really bad insomnia.
I took Ambien, Valium, KAVA KAVA, GABA, L-Methioine, Theanine and nothing worked. Any suggestions?

You only took the hydros for 6 weeks?  How many were you taking a day?  I detoxed from hydros last month and i have been taking trazodone.  It knocks me out.  Maybe you were just having a bad night.  I think ambien is stronger than trazodone. I dont really know what to tell you if the ambien and valium wasnt working.  thats some pretty strong stuff...... maybe talk to your doctor.... I hope you get some help,  and sleep....  :)

It wont hurt to try diphenhydramine - benadryl.... - also try some sleepytime tea from celestial seasonings...I didnt have much luck with ambien and that surprised me....good luck

Hmmm if you cut on July 4th and the insomnia didnt kick in for 4 days later thats strange. My experience is I had the insomnia for the first two nights and then it got increasingly better. maybe you were just having a bd night. I dont know what to tell you either. Ambien is pretty strong. I hope you sleep tonight.

I got off Hydros 10 month ago and the insomnia was the thing that lasted the longest.  I went on Ambien and then had to go through getting off it.  I think that what I finally realized was that I was just going to have to get through the insomnia as another stage.  I know it's hard but I promise it will pass.  I take 3 benadryl and one of the Sleep MD's every night and usually I sleep pretty good.  You can get Sleep MD at Walmart.  Just know and believe that you can get through this and that others have been through as well.  Best wishes.
