Is a tylenol number one an opiate?

I just went down to the drug store to get more vitamins and my gf told me to get these tylenol number 1's for my pain. I read the bottle and it says they can be addictive??? I'm day 11 clean off opiates. I won't take 1 until hear from someone just incase.

Can't u ask for a strong anti inflammatory instead like naproxen if ur in pain or ibuprofen combined with paracetamol (they can work well together). ?

Yes it had said codeine on the bottle....but that didn't help me. I didn't/don't know what codeine is? But I heard it's related to my oxys. I woulda been devastated if I'd taken them. :-/

krissy......good job....you did the right thing....i haven't ever heard of tylenol 1.....nor have i ever seen it....i bought some liquid tylenol the other day thinking that if it was liquid it would work faster than having to wait on a pill to desolve....but its the walgreen kind....it didn't really help much....it helped some guess I'm just used to taking things for pain that really worked...i checked my tylenol...it only has 500mg of acetaminophen .it says it extra strength liquid acetaminophen....but it says compare to tylenol extra strength adult rapid blast....so i guess it does work faster than the pill....so maybe you can try that for your headache.....im laughing a little because I'm so cheap i would have returned them to the drug store.lol....gotta laugh a little at myself for thinking that....but lucky for you you found out what it was and how can they sell this over the counter with codeine in it....thats so strange and I've never seen them...gotta make sure i never buy them...so is the symptoms you were feeling earlier the same as the withdrawals you went thru before???   but soooooo glad you're feeling better.....i worry about my new buddy.....oh btw when you get a min i sent  you a message at least i think it went thru.....talk soon and i hope you have a good night and can get some rest....

Hi Krissy :)

Yaaay You, indeed! I'm glad you made it through! Onwards to Day 12 :) Again, what you did was Awesome & please know that how you 'reacted' was completely normal! It's still early days right now & your body/mind is in turmoil trying to adjust. We're like a raw wound physically & emotionally @ first. This stuff will ease -- I promise.

You WILL make it in the real world. It just takes patience, watchfulness & a full understanding of what it means to be an addict & all that that will entail going forwards. Like I said earlier, your 'habit' will try to blindside you from time to time. (Kinda' like a whack-a-mole game;) This is why it's necessary for us to cut all our 'sources' & walk a different walk. Now would be an excellent time to put a good plan into place in order to protect all your hard work on yourself. (Yeah, the dreaded aftercare word!) No but seriously, any thoughts?

Feeling better now. Wow,I'm not sure how I'm going to make it in the real world if I could barely handle flushing pills that I've never even heard of or taken in my life before, all because I knew they were somewhat similar to my oxycodondes.

Thank you!! I feel like I'm back on day 1 of withdrawls now. I soaked with sweat and I feel like I'm shaking from the inside. I've put my head between my knees and trying to slow my breathing and put music on quietly....I've been doing so good. This is scaring me. :(

(Sound of Thunderous Applause!!!!!)

I'm rising to my feet, Krissy & giving you a standing ovation. Well done, my girl. You passed this difficult test with flying colors.

I know that you're a little shaky right now but give yourself a pat on the back. Way to show your commitment to yourself & the process! I know it wasn't easy to do that! (Proud of you)

There is NOTHING wrong with you. What's happening to you right now is proof positive that your habit-mind is alive & well. In a way this is good reminder of how powerful that ever-lurking 'black dog' can be. It will blindside you, hide for a while, try to seduce you or clobber you over the head. It will even affect your body when it's thwarted -- the way it's doing right now. The main thing to remember is that it LIES & you don't have to give in. It's not YOU. It's okay to feel the way you're feeling. We have to learn to sit in our skins w/o recourse to opiates. That's the heart of the matter. You're building the skills right now to resist it. There are many more to learn going forward. That's why aftercare of some type is so necessary for us. It's not really about getting the drugs out of our body. It's about keeping them out.

Again, Congrats!

Hold Fast -- You're a Warrior :)

We're here.

Hi there Alisa :)

There are three addictive analgesic alkaloids in the poppy plant: Morphine, Codeine & Thebaine.

Congratulations on Day 11! That's huge! Please, get rid of those pills as soon as you can. You don't need them & having them around is an eventual invitation to relapse. (It's amazing how we can convince ourselves to 'just take one' to ease the discomfort). This is one of your first tests & it's come early! Please, either flush them or ask your gf to. You're doing great -- keeping pushing forwards. This is a good time to show your commitment to yourself & to staying clean. (It's hard enough w/o those things around!:)

Best of the Best to you.

Hold Fast! :)

Nvm yes I guess they are. I called pharmacy and said I was just there and bought them. She said they have 8mg of codeine in them. And I guess that's an opiate too. Well shoot I'm glad I didn't take one. That woulda wrecked my 11 days. :-/
