Is it possible to stop using codine w/caffine in it? & same time usin perks?

Hi im in my late 20's, been taking for 3 yrs or more, not to sure. but started when i was in contruction, Had back pains, was always sore everywhere, then someone gave me pills to try (codine w/caffine) 'witch i didnt know at the time' when i took it it felt good or didnt even feel my back pain wasnt sore, then went on from there. thought it would'nt be that bad taking it daily, but by weeks came by then ran out, started to feel the withdrawalls. when years came by My dose mulitply'd, recently started snorting perks. thats where i need help. i think i really upgrade to bad, to 2x worse. im not feelin really sick, like hospital wise sick, but im sure thats where im headed. I know in this Community ( Dry Reserve) Alot of people can relate(i know this). i know if i turn myself around, alot of people will follow or atleast see me try to get help for "it".but i need a first step.  im also a son, a father,& a  husband, & im pretty good at it. Me & the wife play sports & dont drink, i got heavy weights that i use pump to, but its just sitting there now. i put alot of thought into this and to what i said. so please help me, give me advise, tell me what to do, how to go cold turkey without really hurting myself & for me to pass the motivation on. thats my story thanks!

Hi & Welcome,

Glad to see you are looking to end the cycle and get some help. So that you know, there is no way to avoid the physical withdrawal. You can take vitamins and mineral supplements to help ease the process but once you reach the point that you are snorting the medication, you are in it pretty good. So, that's not to say that it can't be done. Many, many of us have done it and are doing it now.

First you want to wrap your head around the fact that this is it. You have to want this and you have to be willing to do whatever it takes to get it done. Get yourself set up with all the things you will need for the detox and pick a day. If you can get off of work, surely that is the best thing to do. Give yourself a couple of days to get through the withdrawal at home when you can get comfortable. Set yourself up for success is what I am trying to say. Have a plan and stick to it.

There is great support here and you will find many helpful members who will reach out to you anytime you have a question, or just need to talk so stick around. Let us know when you plan to do this and we'll be here to help you through it.
