Scarface- just keep taking zoloft and stop the pain pills. Then you will see how well the zoloft is working for you.
No one knows if you "wasted the pills", we are all different in our biochemistry. Like Nursegirl said, your focus needs to be on staying off painkillers.
Ok, but did I just waste all those zoloft pills taking them with those pain meds? Since I stopped taking the pain pills yesterday, does that mean yesterday was like the first day of taking Zoloft?
Basically, did the pain pills just hinder the effects of the Zoloft?
Well, I sort of disagree about mentioning the whole story, but that's just my opinion. You kind of were pretty misleading about the whole thing on your other thread....so I'm very glad to see you being more honest about the situation, because although I know you don't want to hear it, everything you mentioned, from taking someone else's narcotic, to taking an opiate for reasons other than what they're for (for treating feelings of depression/self medicating), AND the fact you have used enough to experience withdrawals tells me that you either had already developed a bit of an addiction problem, or you were on the cusp of developing one.
I cannot stress enough the importance of staying on top of this if you continue to have issues...either with cravings, or anything else related to the pills. While I genuinely hope you're one of the lucky ones who just stops, never to abuse pills again.....there's a chance you'll experience issues more consistent with the vast majority of people in the same boat. Staying honest with yourself about the situation is vital.
Keep posting...hang in there.
Plus I don't want to take any more drugs after going through percocet withdrawals. I had a really nasty case of the chills and I just couldn't sleep right
I didn't think it was necessary to mention why I was using it. All I want to know is if I'm okay now that I already DID use those drug combinations. I just want to know if I could have caused any permanent brain damage from already using them. I don't plan on using another drug now that I have what I need to treat my condition.
I find it ironic that when you asked this in the depression forum, you neglected to mention that you were taking the narcotics because they eased your depression. That is self medicating, and while you're adamant that you would NEVER abuse the medication, that's exactly what you're doing.
As I tried to tell you on your other thread, you're on a slippery slope. The very pills that will help lift the feelings of depression will at some point turn on you and make your depression a million times worse.
I'm glad to hear you aren't planning on taking anymore. If you find that you're still doing it, you need to nip that in the bud and get some help.
I'm gonna stop taking the Vicodin starting now. How long will it take for the Vicodin to stop dulling the effects of the Zoloft IF it is? Like, how long will I have to be off the Vicodin?
To be honest the reason I was taking the Vicodin was to ease the depression because it made me feel really good, but I was put on Zoloft a week ago. Now that I have Zoloft I can just stop the Vicodin.
How long should it take Zoloft to work? I don't feel anything from it. Is it too soon to tell if it's working? I started taking it the 19th
Eh, why are you taking someone elses vikes/perks?
I was on zoloft for years during my hydro addiction. It didn't cause brain damage but opiates dull the effects of everything. I didn't know even know at the time if the zoloft was working or not.
