I have tried 3 different sleeping pills and still cant sleep. I was taking opiates for about a year and went through detox 2 months ago and still cant sleep at all. Are any of you after this lenght of time still feeling week, shaking and your head still feels like it's in a cloud?

Yep that is all withdrawl symptoms. Be very careful of taking sleeping meds during withdrawl. You don't want to O.D. on sleeping pills. It has happened. What kind of sleep aid are you taking?

Yes, it does take a while. Your sleep will start coming back little at a time. Take whatever sleep you can get, knowing you might not be able to sleep later. I believe your about over the sleeplessness. Everyone is different though. Some opiates are harder to get out of your system then others. Depending on what you were taking makes a huge difference. If you've been clean for 2 months, my opinion is that you should almost be past all this. Hang in there!

I would try taking natural sleep aids.  I take melatonin, a GNC sleep add that has magnesium and calcium, and Theanine.  Alos, try the Amino Acid Protocol down on the right side of the page...it has helped me greatly.  And exercise is very important too.  I have been clean for 15 days and I have been sleeping good the last few days.  I have been back at work since Monday, and I am doing very good.  I CT'd from a 3 yr. 350 mg/ day Oxy/methadone habit.  It is very difficult but can be done.  Hang in there and stick with it.  Try to focus on one day at a time and try not to think "Will this ever end?"  Just try to get through one day and then the next, and eventually, you (and I) will be past this and at a much better place in your life.  I think that worrying constantly about when will I fell better is giving the pills a chance to come in and answer the question for you....

God Bless and stay strong...remember why you decided to stop in the first place.
