not sure about the database. are you buying them from the street, getting them from friends or do you have a script?
if you have a script please ask the doctor or a doctor you know that can give you another opiate to help you taper. be honest with them and they should help you. I think with the 30mg roxys they are time released and you really cant cut them up. so it would be hard to taper down from those.
you would need to get something that is smaller, maybe some tens then it would make it easier.
is it more times that you take 45mgs than 30mgs?
how long have you been using for?
Each state is different as far as the database goes. I don't think you will have any concerns as long as you're not doing anything wrong. I can definitely understand the concern though. It usually doesn't become an issue unless there's a suspicion of drug seeking or diversion behavior.
It's a shame, but the Rx abuse problem has become so bad that it became necessary. You're smart to seek help, it's great that you recognize you need it. It's hard sometimes for a medical professional to seek help for themselves, for any issue really. We're the worst patients.
Keep posting, let us know your progress!
Yes I'm taking 30mg-45mg a day. They are ruining my life I can't function, I am barley getting by. I need help, I know that. I'm just worried that now every drug you get through your insurance plan goes to some national data base. It's not confidential if another DR can see every drug you have filled through other Drs even antibiotics. I don't know if that works if you pay cash probably though.
This is the reason there are HIPPA laws in place. Any treatment you seek would be kept confidential, and no, you wouldn't be reported to the board. I can certainly understand your concerns. I would encourage you to verbalize your concerns to the doctor/clinic. They will reassure you.
I agree that you don't want to get subs off the street...THEN your license would be at risk.
Good for you for wanting to get your life back. Addiction runs rampant in the health care field. I cannot tell you how many people I've come accross through the years who have had problems with addiction...all great nurses/doctors, and a lot of them went on to get help and do great!
Best to you!
Pat, no matter what, look at today as a blessing. What you're doing is a positive move to get your life back. Today is the first day in turning your life around. Take today's willingness and grow it into recovery. With this desire to stop using you'll find a way. Millions are using but you're a person who's now honestly seeking recovery. Hold your head up Pat, and be proud. Continue your quest no matter what. You're going to get through this.
Welcome. We have many quite a few health professionals come through here. I don't know the legal ramifications of it bit someone else will.
What I do know is if you try to buy subs off the street you could get arrested and go to jail. Then you job will surely find out.
If you tried to taper and the withdrawals were bad then you need to taper slower. Are you taking one 30 mgs roxy a day?
