Is there help for someone on crack

I am in love with a man who has a crack addiction.  When he is straight he is such a different person.  But I feel so stupid because I still love him.  I am not stupid I am fairly intelligent but why do I still have hope for him. I have heard this is one of the hardest drugs to quit.

You should try a nar anon or narc anon meeting,,,there meetings for spouses and loved one of addicts and they"ve gone thru what your experiancing,,gl

yes there is hope for any addict.  crack is a very hard addiction to beat, but it ccan  be done.  the main thing is the addict has to want to quit...more than anything in the world.  he is lucky to have you to help him.  does he want to quit?  we have a member fighting a crack addiction here.  his name is newmanagemnt.  he will be glad to help you.  i sent hima message to look you up.  if you get a chance send him  message..he will give you great advice on how to help your boyfriend.  good luck to you both.

there is always hope for any addict! but they have to want to get clean? does he? we will pray for him and for you also. hes lucky to have someone like you to still care. i ndont know much about the cocaine addiction but i have heared some bad thing about that drug! good luck to you both there is help here at the forum just keep posting. best of luck sherri

I,too, am in love with a crack addict.
But he is also a man who has been incarcerated for a lot of his life so it's hard to see where the deceipt and manipulation comes from or how to change all that.
And then there is the sexual promiscuity.
It is not up to me to change him anyway.
All I know is that I tell and show him I love him but offer no cash, do not allow him to live with me and feed him when I see him.
There are days that go by when I wonder where he is and if I will get a call from the police, or a hospital.
As time passes, I can begin to picture a life without him because I am so tired of crying and being depressed. I miss the man I fell in love with who was clean at the time.
I continue to pray for him and will never give up on him.
But as a recovering addict wisely told me, he cannot love me and crack.
Right now, crack is his lady.
