Is this a normal wd symptom?

Hi all, first just want to say GL to all here trying hard.  I was on vic and Norco for years had a back injury and surgery complete with new titanium parts.  Still have pain, but still had pain with meds.  Told pain mgmt. I wanted to stop the pills at least 6 mos ago that I couldn't take living this way and counting and stressing.  They said no way are you ready.  Well BS to them.  I tapered off last two weeks and wd was not that bad (went cold turkey about 2 yrs ago before surgery it was awful and pain was crazy so had to go back on).  I am about 3 weeks and was feeling better but having this strange feeling in my head, can't describe it properly, like my brain is crackling its kinda loud to me if I don't have tv or music.  Is this the neuro receptors flipping out cause they're not getting fed or what?  I feel like I'm crazy trying to explain to my family.  They are very supportive of how well I am doing.  I am so mad at the drs cause my pain level is no worse than taking the meds, I wonder how long ago I could have done this and been over it.
Please someone tell me if they know what I'm talking about.

I get those too!! Just as I am dozing - like a small seizure.

They have tapered down - but I still get them.

Great job!!

yes, brain zaps or sizzling.  Did yours go away? It seems worse when trying to sleep.

Is it like brain zaps.  That's what I called them.  I got them from Effexor and Tramadol withdrawal.

Thanks.  It's not really noise kinda like sizzling or steam heat sound.  I know it sounds crazy.  How long does it take to feel normal?  I just wish I could sleep.

It could be. More people will be on in the morning to answer. Personally I had what felt like lightening bolts in my brain, but I didn't have noise.

You've done amazing! That's great you did what you thought best. I'm certainly not saying going against a Drs advice is good, but we are talking pain meds, not going against advise on say, gallbladder surgery or chemo. Good for you! So happy to hear your pain is better too.

Anyway, other's will be along. Have a good night!
