ADDICTION: SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMUNITY
Is this "ok"?

Is this "ok"?

I know this sounds absolutley nuts but I am afraid something is wrong with me, lol. Today is day 3 cold turkey. I keep seeing all over the boards that days 2, 3, and 4 are the worst. Well, today hasn't been bad! I'm still weaker than I want to be, if I do anything major like running around chasing the kids or picking up the house too much, too much walking, my body gets like jello but that's about it! My stomach isn't sick anymore, no more diahhrea, I have my appetite back, I just feel pretty good mentally. I didn't want to post this because I was afraid someone would think I was bragging or something, I don't mean to "show off" I am just worried that I am some kind of freak! Is it going to hit me later on hard or did I just luck out? I have slept at least 8-10 hours each night so I'm guessing that could have helped? I think honestly maybe the "I feel great!" is just all in my head? LOL I don't know!!! I think day one and two were far worse than today. Yesterday probably worst of all, I felt like crap warmed over, and dragging through all that shopping was hell on earth! OK, give your advice! haha!

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth as the saying goes. And stop looking for things that are not there...that will make you crazy!

Good for you, now you can get on with your life without the use of drugs. Congrats!!!

LOL Thanks guys! I just needed to hear that for my sanity I guess! I am definitly study up on addiction and completely change my lifestyle! Lucky for me, I have ZERO friends who do drugs, I was the only one, so that's not something I have to deal with. My boyfriend doesn't drinks very occasionally but is very cautious of what he does as he is a recovering alcoholic. We both have really addictive personalities and therefore he and now WE are going to take no chances! I'm thinking about going to church for the first time in years again, going to try to get involved in something when I start the new college, anything to keep myself busy will help! Also want to give NA a go, and of course stay on here, it helps me stay accountable because I don't want to let people down!

Wow!  I'm glad you are feeling so well.  It may be that you are lucky, and maybe you will have some up and down days.  Hard to tell this soon.  Day 3 SHOULD be the peak.  If you can chase kids and clean house, I'd say you are doing great!  I couldn't chase anything for about 2 weeks!!!  Running to the toilet took all the energy I had for awhile! : )

Sounds like you are doing good!!!  Keep your guard up and protect yourself against relapse and cravings by getting some support!
