Just Beginnning

I feel like I may be starting an addiction to vicadin.  I am taking about 6-8 pills per day. It started with temporary pain and no longer need the pain relief but it makes me feel good. What can I expect when I stop taking the pills? Does anyone know the side effects of vicadin.  Any information would be appreciated. Thanks-

u can either ct or taper from that dose...u can expect to feel flu-like for 4-5 days after quitting...i was at that dose when i quit...back to work on day 5...fatigue and depression lingers...go to the health pages and get the thomas recipe and if u decide to taper...i did a 10 day taper...there is a taper article in there as well...glad u want to quit...it does not get better from here

You are going to experience some really bad flu like symptoms. Diarrhea, nausea, body aches, and more like sweats, chills, insomnia and such. Look to the lower right in the health posts for the Thomas recipe and the amino acid protocol they say they help.
Keep posting read and learn we are all here to help. Good luck and God bless

You asked about side affects. Memeory loss, endorphin and seratonin production basically stops, liver damage from Tylenol, lack of energy and drive etc. some of these happen when you are on it and most are lingering after you quit. And I do mean lingering. Many months worth.

If you have only been taking for a few months. many of these things should repair themselves fairly quickly. Please quit now before they totally run and ruin your life.

Thank you for the information. I am so afraid to speak with my MD or family and friends. I know they would not understand. I have no excuses.

We have all dealt with the shame. I found it liberating to tell people. for one, it is the nature of these pills. You would be surprised how many people understand or have been there themselves.
If you taper off and then quit. It will not be too bad. 3 months of using is a short time. That will work in your favor.
