Just Curious about Street Purchases

I've been reading posts for several days and notice that many tons of u awesome people were able to get prescription drugs on the street. and that they are readily available.  

sorry if my terminology is all screwy, but how is it that these are so easily obtained?

Would love to hear stories...as being on this forum is preventing me from picking up m script...and taking some...on day 3 and trying to pass the time too!

I am with you I find it intersteing how so many were able to get these on the streets so easily and as a mother of teen hope my teens would not be able to get them so easily.

please don't misunderstand me...i am not interested in purchasing...u can read my posts about my own issues if you like...

I am more concerned as a mother of teenagers, and how these drugs seem to be so available.  I don't want to be ignorant, but informed.


I am not asking anyone to tell me how to get them..but how they end up on the street in the first place.

Narcotic pain pills are like any drug, if there's a supply, then there's people willing to sell it. Justlikeyou is correct. We tend to get a little defensive when people ask about how drugs are bought on the streets. I know by your other posts that your post was innocent. However, the information we give may be used by someone reading who isn't so innocent. What I'm saying is to not take personally if people are curt with responses.

Thanks for your candor.  and I appreciate your wanting to protect others from addition.  Didn't mean to open pandoras box.  

My sister-in-law has has a long term on and off habit with Meth and Crack...and has been "clean" of those for a while. she hangs with a very differnt set of people...and i know that she gets her methadone or vicodin from people who are crack addicts and she trades their clinic meth drugs for crack (her boyfriend is a user)...  she travels in another circle... was just curious how these legit drugs get to the suburbs and in our schools.

Every time a question like this is asked people will jump on you, you can only talk about addiction and recovery on this forum! Not sure why??? your point is valid, but no one here is very receptive to the truth about drugs, just recovery. When I was on Oxycontin many years ago my Doc prescribed 8 5/500 percocets per day for brake through pain, thing was I was on such a high dose of Oxy that I never took the Perc's. I sold them to friends and friends of friends, so as you can see just one person can put 240 Perc's on the street per month, now times that by 1000! Then you have people who steal from family, people who steal from pharmacy's, bad Doctors and Pharmacists, the list is endless. People also buy them from the internet and re sell them for double the price. Not sure why the government has not shut that down yet!!! Anyway your question was not bad, and this is just my 2 cents!!!

I agree above.. many of us have gotten pills from "other sources" when we were in dire straights.. But like was said.. we are a addiction recovery forum and we try not to encourage anyone to continue to use.. or obtain pills.. whether that be from friends or online pharmacies, etc.

I read your story and I truely feel your pain.. I have been off of pills now for 43 days and I have more physical pain than I realized.. the pills masked the pain from a old whiplash injury for several years.. Now I am left to deal with it..

Thanks guys... appreciate the education.  I guess i just feel a bit naive...I wouldn't even know where to get marijana...so i guess i'm just amazed at how easy it is for people to get these drugs and then become addicted...  Like i said, I live in Cookie Cutter Ville (kinda like the Stepford Wives)...  I am sure it is all around me, but it is secret and hidden.

Hope i didn't offend anyone...I'm new here so please forgive me if I have...  This forum has gotten me through the day...

No I am sure you did not offend anyone... you did the right thing by being honest and saying why you wanted to know.. some of us are very protective of the forum.. like justlike you and myself... we don't want it to stay to helping people get drugs or learn new "tricks"

I am like you would have no clue how to purchase drugs from off the street and would be scared to even try it that with my luck I would run into an under the cover cop and end up in jail.
I do understand how you all feel and you do not want to put that sort of stuff on the boards.
Besides its not really a certain way its like somebody said it word of mouth pretty much.
A friend of my son his mom was on lortabs she would buy them off the street or where ever she could.
I wish I could get in contact with her so she can come to this board because she is still fighting her addiction , her husband is addicted to drugs but she is trying to get off them.
I do understand how you all feel this board is for us to find comfort not to help others find a way to get there hands on drugs.

My original doc was pot. Then came some injuries and pain meds. Once, while going through w/d's, I asked my pot dealer if she had any pain meds. Well, of course she did. All I could buy. She gets hers from 2 different drs, one she pays w/insurance, and the other cash. She was in an auto accident and has all kinds of hip problems. She also has a friend or 2 that does the same thing, so there is always plenty. I also have a 2nd job at a local grocery store. Lots of hs and college aged kids, and from just talking, made some connections there as well. That is the scary part for me as some of these kids go to school w/my kids. I too live in suburbanville, a gated community, and my regular job is "white collar".

They are all over the place, at least here in Florida.

I agree about not giving detailed info on this forum on how to purchase or get drugs, I would never tell someone exactly where to go or how to buy. But as a general topic to inform or school people on where these pills are coming from, I don't see it as a bad subject. Also I had a tough day today so sorry if my 1st e-mail seamed a little straight forward.

You can always tell when someone is fishing for a source, and when someone is looking for information to quell their curiosity. I think everyone in this discussion is doing so to discuss how and why these drugs are so prevalent illegally. I personally think that at least 80 percent of the opiate prescription drugs on the street are sold by people getting them prescribed to them legally. That's why any pain management doc will test people to make sure they are taking the meds they are prescribed and not sell them. If this discussion can do anything, it can let people know how to check on their kids. Children are getting hooked on these things by taking them recreationally. It's a sad commentary on how lax some doctors take their oath. This discussion does tread "on the fence", but it also is a source of needed information for parents out there.

All I can say on that one is where I live, the ER out here hands out norcos like they are tic tacs.
And usually they are so easily attainable on the streets for cheap, like 2 bucks a pill. That's what I used to get them for when I was hooked on them a while back. I have heard of different states where they can cost anywhere from 5 to 10 bucks a norco. I guess it just depends on where you live, and how easy they are to get.
