I just quit taking suboxone, its day 2 without any at all, I don't feel real good but I know I don't feel normal. I was on a quarter a day and the quit. How long will the withdrawl's last? How long will I be sick for?

My doctor wanted to put me on suboxone for pain relief but I decided it wasn't for me.  I'm glad it helped you get off the oxy.  I know people who tapered down to one 8th sub and came off it easy peasy.  You are young, ( I read your profile). I'm 51 so my experience will most likely be worse than what you will experience.  just try to stay positive and picture what normal means to you.  Add me as a friend and pm me if you like.

Thank you Liz..... yeah I've been on it for about 2 1/2 years, and I just want to feel normal, and not have to depend on medication like this. Yeah I didn't mean to post twice, it just happened..... sorry about that

It all depends on how long you were taking it and how high a dose you were on.  Were you alway on a quarter strip a day?  Suboxone has a long shelf life in the brain, so your probably just now starting to feel the withdrawal.  Everyone is different as far as how long but the symptoms seem to be the same no matter what you were taking.  All I can do is tell you my experience.  I was on 90mg of oxyneo for five years.  I tapered down over three weeks, which is a very fast taper and I jumped off at 20 mg.  the first couple of days I felt anxiety and RLS, restless leg syndrome.  It was all over my body like ants crawling under my skin.  My doctor prescribed me Pramipexole Dihydrochloride which helped a lot.  Day 3 and 4 the pain set in and my tummy was upset.  Day 5 and 6 were hell, tossing my cookies and dry heaving constantly.  Day 7 I was much better and had enough energy to clean the house.  Day 8 was bad because I over did it on day 7 and out my back out, but that was my own fault.  I'm on day 9 now and I am feeling pretty good.  I have a bit of a low grade fever and a stuffy nose, but I here that's all part of the withdrawal.  The worst part is over faster than you think.  It may seem like forever when you in the thick of it but it's not and before you know it your in the clear.  Stay strong, one day at a time.  Drink tons of water, or gate raid is even better. stock up on vitamins, B, C, a good multi, emergenc immune plus for when you can't eat.  Sleepy time tea to relax.  Calcium at night to relax you muscles and potassium as well.  I ate many bananas.  Get some 5 HTP to reactivity you brain.  Take hot baths with mineral salts, several a day and exercise as much as you can.  You won't be able to sleep so exercise instead.  I am doing sit-ups and push-ups all night long.  You can do this and we will be here to do it with you.  God bless, Liz
