Labled/flagged?

when I went to the ER 2 weeks ago tonight and asked for help, I noted the paper work indicated diagnosis "substance abuse---hydrocordone".  Have I now been "labeled/flagged" in my ins companies database as a substance abuser?  I may have asked this question before but can't recall the answer..

NOTE: no, I don't plan on going out and getting a script and try to fill it.

Thanks...I always got my prescriptions from the same doctor (or one of the other doctors at the practice) so no issues there.  2 weeks before I went for help (they gave me clonodine) I went because I was out of vics and they gave me 15 I think  it was.

I'm glad I'm not dealing with that anymore.

I work for an insurance company.  You won't be labeled due to an ER notation.  However, most insurance companies follow your prescription issues and if you have lots from multiple MD's not your primary care MD, they may notify each doctor who prescribes  that you are getting similar/same drugs from other providers.  You will be labeled in that ER, and often ER's share information.  When I was an ER nurse we had a file called the frequent flyer file.  Had the names of patients who presented frequently for narcotics, what their pain complaints were and if other ER's had called to ask if we'd seen them.  But, the bottom line is the ER will generally give a few pills just to get you out the door.
