You are right about the exercise only for me it only works while I'm there. I feel like hell.  I spent 2 hrs in the gym and felt great, but now?  I don't know

I copied this for you from another post as it's got lots of great info. My hubby  is using the B6 with a Bcomplex and has started going for walks!!! First time in months!!! He also started going to meetings to cos the aftercare is crucial to success!! apparently the mental stuffs harder than the physical...hope this helps :o)

"EXERCISE! This is, by far, the number one way of combating the physical and mental part of withdrawal, including depression. You may not want to do anything, which could even include getting out of bed, but if you can motivate yourself to exercise, you will notice a dramatic increase in your energy levels and your mindset. This is what has made a dramatic difference each time I've gone through withdrawals. It is THE wonder drug, not to mention you can obtain the infamous “runner's high” after running for a certain amount of time.
L-Tyrosine: (Available at GNC) Studies show l-tyrosine will help with depression, energy levels, and other mood disorders. It is a precursor to dopamine (the Almighty), norepinephrine, epinephrine, and L-dopa. Epinephrine and norepinephrine are two of the body’s stress-related hormones, and l-tyrosine’s role in their creation can help ease the negative effects of stress. Starting at 2000mg per day, and adjusting is one way to begin. Vitamin B6 is essential in the creation of the neurotransmitters, so be sure to take the it along with the l-tyrosine.
Vitamin B6: Vitamin B6 helps in the creation of serotonin (the “happy” neurotransmitter), dopamine, norepinephrine, and GABA (the mechanism in which benzodiazepines work through; reduces stress levels; induces relaxation). So one can easily see why B6 is beneficial. It also provides energy, and as said before, is essential in the conversion of l-tyrosine to the various neurotransmitters.
FIND SOMEONE YOU CAN TALK TO! We all need to vent. Find a friend, someone on this forum, a psychologist, etc. It is essential if you want to succeed.
Think about all of the things that can be done now. Money in the bank, be around for family/friends, not worry about your next fix, not be sick all the time, etc.
Good luck!"

Thanks I will try that.  Is there any thing to help with the hatefulness that goes with the withdraws?  I'm asking for my hubby.

Hi...my hubby's day 7 methadone free today! It's stopped now but he had terrible leg and back aches/pains too. He reckons magnesium supplements work really well.  Just the ones you buy otc. He took 4 in the morning and 4 at night. Hope this helps you too! All the very best to you!!!!

I just wanted to make sure you got my previous posts. I think we posted at the same time. Thank you for the offer to vent, but just knowing I'm not alone has helped me tonight. I took some xanax and I'm going to crash. I really hope you feel better and get some good sleep for tomorrow. It must be tough with children. Mine is at my parent's house. I'm lucky , I guess.

Did you find the fish, or get another one? Kids are so resiliant. Thank God! Have a good night. :-)

Thanks.  This site has really helped me more than anything else.  Thanks for the support.  I told my son that his fish had shed his scales and that is why he looked different, and in a bigger tank. Thank god for children. He asked what color (couldn't find a fish that looked like his)  will his next set of scales be.

I know what you mean about the emotions. I started a fight with my hubby for washing my clothes. He wanted to be nice and I took it like I "What, just because I can't control my addiction, I can't control  my own laundry?. God.  I have a carpet of egg shells.  No one knows what to say to me.

so far, I'm able to sleep atleast with the help of clonidine.
Thanks again for listening.
I"m also here if you need to talk

I guess you went to bed. Please sleep well. I was going to mention a benzo for the RLS and anxiety(and jitters/shakiness). I take xanax and klonopin. If you can tell your doctor what you're going through, I'm sure he will help you. Post tomorrow. I'll be waiting, for I am going through the same thing. Stay strong!

I bought some Hyland's Restless Legs for my detox. Does it work? I really can't tell, but it seems like anything would help. Take Motrin/Ibuprofin for the pain, I guess. That's what they say. I know it hurts and *****, but don't forget why you're doing this. Don't give up. Maybe try walking. That's what I did(when I could) and it really helped. It's cool outside right now; perfect time. It gets your mind off things and takes your mind off the leg pain, for a while. Could you sleep last night? I got up at 4:30 this morning. I used to jog, but now my knees hurt, without the painkillers and, God knows, I want one. But we both know that 1 leads to 2 leads to 3...Stick with where you're at, and if you can, I would just go CT. You know, to get it out of the way sooner. You're going through it anyway, right?

It feels good to say positive things for someone. Kind of brings me up, too. This site is the best thing for us. Especially right now. Together, we can do anything!

To look on the bright side..I laughed. Thank you.

Good for you, being down to 1.5. Me (and your family) are proud of you. You must know that you can't be doing anything better for yourself than you are right now. I'm a little cloudy too, so if I said anything affending, I'm sorry.

I apologize for taking so long to respond, but I was watching "More to Love"! It's a great show. it was the season finale and I balled my eyes out. I'm so emotional lately. It's almost like I'm making up for lost time. Lost tears, lost feelings. You know? Not going through this alone can be very comforting.

I'm sorry for your child's fish. I'm sure he/she will understand that the fish "jumped out" and you had to say "goodbye". Don't beat yourself up. You have a bigger battle to fight right now. You are doing the right thing. It might take a few days, but it's the rest of your life you are fixing/bettering. Don't give up. We're with you all the way. I'll be on more often tonight until I go to bed, so keep posting. You got this!

I did the most awful thing today.  I've been weaning down, I'm shaky, highly agitated, and just plain mean.  I'm down to 1.5.  I changed my 6yr old's fish tank today.  Being shaky, I must have not gotten the fish back into the tank.  An hour later, I went to move the small tank back to it's usual place and his fish was gone.  I must have put missed the tank and put it down the drain and at some point I also ran the garbage disposal.  I feel like the biggest piece of ****, allowing my addiction to kill my baby's fish. What else must I've done during the time I was in full blown addiction?

I'm still weaning.  I'm scared of what I will do once I"m down to none. So far I'm not stomach sick, just mind sick..........

Ugh! I'm on day 3(almost over, thank God.). My legs hurt in the worst way. Is it muscle or bone? You know what I mean? We can do this. Hang in there. Sometimes the nausea outweighs the pain. Pick one. haha. Keep posting. We can go through this together. Best wishes.

It eventually stops, it all depends on the person, dosage you were taking on a daily basis, etc. Everyone is different. If it's messing with your sleep, try taking a hot shower or bath before you go to bed. That always helped [a little] when I was going through my detoxing period from Percocet. Not only that, but a lot of people swear by bananas. I didn't notice MUCH difference, but it was there.
