Liver conerns

by empathy323, Oct 26, 2008 10:48AM
I have had to take pain meds on and off since my early teens for a variety of serious problems.  Now I am older and at a crossroads with my medications wondering if it is all needed anymore or in some cases what I want, feel comfortable doing, and am used to. i.e. habit … Anyway that is for me to figure out...  My question is I never worried about my liver when I was younger.  The bulk of what I take has Tylenol in it usually about 325-500mg per pill.  When I do the math times the number of pills I have taken a day at times it really scares me.  Has anyone else ever reached this point and had this type of concern?  Has anyone had any serious liver damage done from the Tylenol in their pills?

I took hydro (10/500) for about 5 years (see my other post) and the tylenol thing was a huge deal for me.  i told my doctor about it and then he moved me to morphine but i'm almost certain that my liver is something like a hockey puck : /  I have had it checked out and they said it was bad but, the liver DOES regenerate (slowly) eat alot of iron (i. e. tuna or liver) And, if u take tylenol never take ibuprophen or what have u with it, that is bad liver killin'.  If your eyes and skin aren't turning yellow then you can still save ur liver :P  Good luck.  and u may want to have it checked out.
