Long term usage of ibuprofen

I've been using (ibuprofen 400 mg) once a day for over 3 months.
I've just came to know the danger of such a long term use and which includes liver damage and the increase of the chance of a heart attack, therefor i stopped taking that medicine.
My question is how long it will take my body to cleanse itself from that medicine and if there is anything that i can do to speed up the cleansing process.
Last, if any of my body organs got damaged, would the damage be permanent or it will hill up after a while.

Thanks

Your dose is not very high but everyone's body is unique and reacts differently to toxins. I would be concerned with kidney function in addition to liver function and, yes, kidney damage can be permanent.

Chances are you're just fine but for your peace of mind get an appt with your doctor and ask to have lab work to measure your kidney and liver function. Usually, staying well hydrated and eating properly will keep your organs in good condition. Good luck!

Talk with your doctor about this and they can run tests to make sure your liver is okay.

my kidneys seem to get more effected by motrin than my liver.  at least i get pain in my kidneys when i take too much.

i drink cranberry juice.  for your liver you can get milk thistle at gnc

On the positive side 400 mg per day is not that much, and three months is not that long. There will be some liver damage, but it should repair itself.
