Loritab Detox

Hey everyone - I have been taking loritabs for the past 2 yrs - I have been reducing my intake for the past month and am now ready to stop taking any pills - Does anyone know how long the detox process will last?  Any ideas of helpful vitamins/ food that will help quicken the process?  I appreciate any help that anyone can give me - I am nervous and scared but READY to change my life!  THANKS

The Thomas Recipe is in the Health Pages and has much info for you there.  Please consider the clonidine as it helps tremendously.

It is great that you have reduced your intake of the lortabs, that will really help too.
Read the posts on here and check out the health pages and post often here too.
After day 4 you will start to feel better,  sometimes day four is rough, but that's a good sign that your kicking the opiate!
Best wishes

Check out the Amino Acid Protocol as well in the health pages.  Since you tapered, your wds should not be as hard as the ct method.

Thanks - I am heading out to the store later today to get my "supplies" ready.  I think I will try the Amino Acid Protocol - The Thomas Recipe calls for valium or something similar and I am skeptical to start taking anything that is not a vitamin/ over the counter.  Please keep me posted of anything else that can help!

Once I know ho wmuch you were taking and what you are taking now maybe I could be of some help.

On my 5th day of stopping all meds, I started exercising with all the associated goals, i.e. diet, strength, cardio.  I did this to keep me focused on my recovery and exercise, I believe helped my body recover faster.

BTW - I joined a gym for this; some folks walk or run but the gym atmosphere helped me.

Just my experience...

You've received some great advice and glad you're getting the stuff to do this appropriately.  If you can taper, that's great and I will say some prayers to give you strength.  This is not easy, but so worth it!  Way to go on starting a new life!
Hugs,
Janet

what ws ur prior dose of lortab?  I am thinkin u r from down south cos thats where hydros are called lortabs..anyway alot depends on how much u took daily,,i was at 100 mgs a day for 4 yrs and physical wd was not as bad as some flu's i have had i the past ..tired, mild headache and nausea. runds being the worst but uttin imodium (immodium) could stop...back to worjk day 5..day 1 was my worst da..then each day got better but i know that is against the rule of recovery in wd....I holed up in my house alone and got it done..slept alot, posted alot, went to meetings every night, cut off my supply for pills and flushed any left in my house/if u leave pills where u can reach for them or call for them..those puppies will siig to u every night ..I was ready for battle..a war!  me against an inanimate object..u would think that since I have some brains, an IQ that was wanted for brainy highschools and colleges, where I could go for free',,, so i may be a southern girl but i taint no dumb!y ..but those pills will try hard to beat the living daylights out of u , make u lose ur self esteem. doubt yourself that u were even gifted with just ONE brain stranule in ur head cos u fried the rest of em ,make a fool out of u, make u go broke when u r trying to be so good, doubt any decision u make cos u feel impaired and retarded..aftercare rox at this fragile time..and posting helps so so so very much

Thanks everyone for all of your support - In the past I was taking up to 10 - 10mg per/day  I have lowered that to around 2 - 10mg per/day ... HOORAY - I haven't taken anything since yesterday morning ... I have all of the supplies for the Amino Acid Protocol thanks to everyone that suggested it!  To worried878 - No I am not from the south actually a west coast girl - I wish I could hide in my house to go through this but I have a couple kids and they have school, after-school classes etc. ... so hopefully I will be able to maintain durring the day ... Maybe as a lot of people have said the process of keeping busy will help me ... Again thanks to everyone for all of the support and encouragement!

Yup Been there. The engery thing was the pitts. It will get better I promise.
Do you have some over the counter stuff like advil?

I was in the tub so much I thought I would never get my fingers to smooth again.

Try to take a small walk if you can. I had to sit down every few steps for about 3 days.
A little excerise will help a bunch.

Stay strong!!!

Yeah, I took some tylenol to help with the aches and pains - my kids have been in super destructive overdrive today (they seem to sense when you can't keep up with them) so I am trying to pick up the house a little bit but it is VERY slow going and I am not accomplishing much!  I feel I have to do something because if I sit still to long I am not going to be able to get up.  It has now been over 24hrs since last intake ... Wish me luck!!!

Hang in there. It is going to be rough going for a week but it is doable and so worth it. Check out the Amino Protocol and The Thomas Recipe located in the health pages (top right).

Let us know how you are doing....
