Loritab withdrawals

My boyfriend has a very bad back and was taking Loritabs when we met. He told me when we first started going out that he was addicted to them, but he wants to get off them. Well, he hasn't had one in 12 hours and has the sweats, vomiting, and back pain. He told me that he has only made it to 3 days without them before and he got very irritable and very sick. Is there anything that I can do for him to make this easier or should I just be patient and know that there isn't really anything I can do for him, that he needs to go through this? How long does the symtoms usually last? What else can I expect? I love him and care about him and want to help him through this, any advice? Thanks in advance.....

hey, there are some things you can do...go to the health pages at the top right side of theis page...get the thomas receipe...it helps alot.  for the aches and chills take hot hot baths and put epsom salt in it.  use a heating pad or electric blanket.  eat lots of bananas...take immodium...and hunker down the worst is usually over in 7 days or so.   he can do this.  it is hard....but be strong.  keep posting here...it will be the best thing you can do for support and advice.  good luck and prayers

Many wives, girlfriends or partners come here for advice on how to handle a situation like yours.  That is a great idea.  

We're addicts.  Most recovering, detoxing or wanting to quit.  

We can answer a lot of questions for you.

First, we need to know how many a day did he usually take?  How many years?  

He is now into full blown withdrawals & experiencing the horrible.  You will have to be very patient.  The most important thing is that you love him and if he really beleives that, then you're the one that will support and help him the most.

Everything you mentioned is normal.  Is he taking any vitamins and does he have anything for sleep aid and anxiety?
