Lortab Detox NOW how?

Please take one minute from what you are doing and post some help for me.  I need some answers ASAP.I have not taken any Lortab since Friday, today is Tuesday.  My body and mind feels like I am going through a panic attack.  My question is simply..what can I do at home or otc to help with this right now without a doctor.  I have convinced myself to quit, cannot afford a doctor, and want to be able to work this entire day without taking a Lortab but need immediate relief from this sense of panic.  It feels like a giant  panic attack and pain, not going to take a Lortab after taking them every day for two weeks.  I need to do something immediately while at work, otc, or something to relieve this panic/stress.

I know you are all going to get tired of me, but my neighbor takes the brewers yeast for the sweats and chills, and her bf says it does help with anxiety as well.  Remember to keep your sugar levels up at this time.  Be sure to eat and get lots to drink.  (H2O you know).

I have had panic attacks several times in my life.  They s**k.  THey make me feel as though death is right behind me.  I feel as though I am trapped in a bubble and can not get anyones attention that I need help.  It is a very creepy feeling.  The first time it happened, my husband thought I did it on purpose.  Like I am going to that to myself for what fun?  Remember to breath, perhaps you should tell a close friend at work that you are a little anixts and you are having these attacks.  It helps me when my friends know I am in the middle of one and they hold my hand , breath with me and get me some water.  The last one happend at church choir.  My director saw it coming and sent everyone but my bff2 out of the room.  She got me through and by the grace of GOD, bff2 had a valium in her purse I had given her months before.  I took it and got through the day okay.  The worse part for me is wondering when and if the next one is coming.  Great huh, panic attacks about panic attacks.
If they get bad enough, see your DR.  Just knowing you have valium with you may keep you from even needing it.

Good Luck,
Morganave

haing pills in ur house is deadly..a sure way to fail..if u have them at home or scrips at the pharmacy then ur only biding time til u fail and relapse...they will sing to u during the night..devils they r..get rid of them as it is very empowering...if u feel the need to keep them then perhaps u r not ready to quit?

there r tons of helpful ways and things to cleandom..the health pages are full of info..exercise for me/to release endorphins which r much needed/helped most...but aminos like tyrosine, phenylalanine, theanine, SAMe, 5HTP can also help...u may be doing better than u think being abstinate for these days?  why ruin it?  get rid of any connections including doctors and any pills in ur house....and include aftercare..those who dont dont (as a rule) make it very long..good luck to u

since you worked in a psyc hospital you know that opiate detox patients take vistoril for anxiety, the otc = to vistorl is benadryl
but the anxiety is going to stick around for a while, i know people who had to stop driving their first few months clean, because of anxiety

Being able to relax will help you through post-acute withdrawal. When you're tense you tend to dwell on your symptoms and make them worse. When you're relaxed it's easier to not get caught up in them. You aren't as triggered by your symptoms which means you're less likely to relapse.

Remember, every relapse, no matter how small undoes the gains your brain has made during recovery. Without abstinence everything will fall apart. With abstinence everything is possible

Do something to burn that energy off - take a walk if you can - different herbal teas can be relaxing.....chamomille and mint especially ......valerian root or theanine ..... do you have access to any benzo's? Might be time to try a valium for a couple days....Just dont stop quiting!  This feeling will come back if you dont face it now. You are already several days into detox - you are so close to doing it by yourself and winning the battle. I am a Nam era vet - and I have seen people do things to survive that might seem impossible to most folks - you can do this. And now is the time.

cunning and powerful this drug.......i know the feeling you long for Triam....I would do...well, come to think of it, I have done all sorts of things to catch that high.....but it is like the others say...eventually you will only take the pills in a quest to feel NORMAL!!!!  Its funny...we use in the first place to feel other than normal...and then later that is all we want!!

What about some exercise?  If you can get out on your lunch hour and walk or run, I'd say go for it.  If it's not your lunch hour and you are having the attacks, can you run in place for a while?  I'm on day 2 again for the thousandth time and this time I'm exercising and it's helping so much.

You mentioned that you had a Masters Degree? Did you ever consider a post traumatic affect from your hurricane experience? When I was quiting the narcs I used benadryl also and it helped with sleep issues a great amount. I also got in touch with some people that are involved with Eastern schools of thought. Deep breathing exercises helped. A hot shower before sleep also helped. Libraries have dvd's of tai chi and cho gong - accupressure works on some things. I have never done accupuncture (creeps me out!) but it is also highly recomended. Got to find the "stop" button on that fast forward ...

That's a good idea; when I picture myself in the future one thing I don't want in the picture are pills! We don't want to believe it because it's so hard to get there...but have to think that if we keep working hard....we will want to get out there in the play house for that tea party more than ever....

What other choice do we have. It CAN be done....so we have to MAKE it be done.

Yeah..I think that this anxiety all started after Katrina.  I had to swim out of my house.  I lost everything I owned.  I do not blame all of this on Katrina, I just think it just added some things.  You mentioned the "fast forward"....that is absolutely the best way to explain my mind at night before I go to sleep.  I never get more than four hours of sleep as it is as if someone is playing a dvd of everything stressful in my life on fast forward.  I get stressed over even the smallest things.  I play that dvd on fast forward as soon as my head hits the pillow.

Dont get caught in that Lortab trap! It is true at first (or seems to be...) that we are better at everything when we have those pills to rely on. But after awhile you wont to play in the treehouse - and you wont be a better parent. Its like fast forward on an elecronic device. You do want to be able to enjoy the daughter when she is 15 dont you? And how about 25? Dont trade a few early years for an entire lifetime..........

You got involved with Katrina  - - - sorry 'bout that. When Camille slam dunked the Gulf Coast in '69 I was just graduating from Basic Training.......they bussed a few loads of us down to Keesler AFB to do search and rescue. No one that hasnt been there can comprehend what a hurricane can do ......

No, I have not used, did not bring them with me!  I am feeling a panic attack however.  That is where this question started:  Something over the counter or something that I can go get on my lunch break to help this panic/anxiety.  but NO, i have not used.  I am 34, live in Louisiana, divorced, five year old daugther, girlfriend (who does not understand this kind of stuff at all and is not the most affectionate/nurturing type person)

I do not want to go another minute without thanking all of you so much for your advice and testimonials....i know that i am not alone.  just chatting here has helped alot as I do not feel that I am the only one that is going through this.  But like mockingbird said, I really do feel like a better parent as well.  I have a focus and attention to my five year old daughter....that is one of the worst brain battles!!  Think about it, I am a better attentive parent on Lortabs!!?? How crazy is that!  I was a good parent before, do not get my wrong, but I am more apt to go outside and play in a treehouse for a tea party when I am on the tabs.
