Lortab Withdrawal

I'm an 18 year old, paraplegic male. I've been taking 10-500mg tabs for almost three months now. I normally would take 6-10 a day at my worst. I quit cold turkey today. My body is already starting to ache. I can't go to detox or my Dr. for help. My family would be devastated if they found out. My metabolism is really high. I weigh about 115lbs. Can anyone suggest something to help with the body aches? And what symptoms should I expect? I'm absolutely terrified..

I am doing well actually. Much better than I expected. I still get chills, some body aches, and sweat a lot. But, I'm doing well.

try not to let the fear in. the physical symptoms should last about a week. you could expect nausea ,sweating, sneezing, runny nose, the aches and pains, yes headache. flu like  symptoms. take motrin, advil or Tylenol. the Epsom salt baths for aches. if you took them to get high there could be mental cravings. do you have access to any more pills? if so, that would be a problem.
it is important to stay hydrated. dehydration causes a lot of the symptoms, try to intake small amounts of food, soups, yogurt, crackers. take immodium for stomach issues.
take care,
keep the faith,

I didn't take them for any legitimate pain problems. I took them for the high and to feel good. And, I live in a really small area where everyone knows everyone. That's why I can't talk to the doctor. I'm completely healthy, besides being a paraplegic. I woke up this morning sweating, and with a killer headache. What all else should I expect?

Wow!  Bless your heart.  I wish that you could tell someone for support.  Isn't there a doc anywhere that could help you?  May I ask why you're stopping the meds if you have legit pain due to your condition and don't take more than 6 or so a day?

We can help you here, but it's super important to have home support.  Family, doctor, therapist, pastor, friends......something.  You get the point.  You could try NA.  It's anonymous, so you won't have to worry with family there.

WD is tough on the body.  I'm healthy otherwise, and I thought it would surely kill me at one point!  :)  Seriously, if you have underlying health issues, WD cold turkey could be dangerous.  You really need to speak to a doctor!   Even if it's not YOUR doctor, you need to talk to one no matter what!

Best of luck to you!  Keep us posted on what you decide to do!
