Lortab withdraws

by booboo27, Oct 14, 2009 02:23PM
Im 27 yrs old with a history of drug abuse. Most of my life i have done something when i was younger a lot of marijuana and lsd.  when i turned 20 i stopped everything except the occasional joint or pain pill.  About a year ago i hurt my back (pulled muscle) i went to the doctor and he prescribed me 120 lortab  10 mg a month at first i loved it im a busy body i work 2 full-time jobs and i do construction jobs on the side. I felt great i could out-work most of my co-workers at both my jobs. After a couple months i noticed that i had to take the pills just to function normal. Mentally i didnt think that i could stop i had to keep up with both my jobs and my family (2yr old son & wife).
I took 6-8 everyday for the last six months. the last three weeks i started buying methadone to try to help me come off of the lortab then when i stopped taking the methadone i went through a bad withdraw so i took 10-12 lortabs the first day 12-14 the second i thought i was going to die. I told my self that if i live through the night im stopping all the pain pills. that was 5 days ago today is the first day i can move. HOW LONG IS THE WITHDRAWS FROM METHADONE AND LORTAB GOING TO LAST.

if you have been 5 days without anything....then you should be coming thru the other side of the storm any day now.  I was taking between 15 and 20 lortab a day for years, and for me...the worst part was over in 4 days.  So...hang in there....and congrats on your success.  Keep it up!

Oh- Note:  I say "the worst part" should be over any day.  I just thought I should mention that I am 3 weeks into my recovery, and I am just now starting to feel 100%.  The past 2 nights are the first "normal" nights of sleep I have had in 3 weeks.  So....BE STRONG.  Have patience, and be relentless in your journey to get clean.  It's sooo worth all of the pain!!!
