Lortab

Can Lortab cause blood alcohol levels to be higher after a couple of drinks?  Would this show in blood and urine?

Randy -- I'm no doc, but because our liver processes all toxins, I imagine that having Lortabs (with the acetominophen in them, even though in lesser amounts than in Vicodin) in your system would defintely slow the clearance time for alcohol and the Lortabs.  Yes, both would show in blood and urine.  Please be very careful about mixing the 2 -- many have overdosed that way; the combination of synthetic opiates and alcohol tends to paralyze our 'respiration center;' in other words, it "shuts down" the area of our brain that tells our lungs to breathe. about ten years ago when I was being an idiot, I went to a bar with a friend and we were on a LOT of valium for no good reason (got it in tijuana cuz I lived an hour from the border) and I had one drink. Well, I had to drive her home cuz she was trashed and I got pulled over (forgot to turn my lights on der) and they were trying SO hard to book me for drunk driving. They breathalized me over and over and were asking themselves, why is this girl SO messed up?? I ended up not going to jail (thank god, I had enuf valium in me I shouldnt have been driving) but they took my valium (i only had ten on me) and never wrote it on the report so I know of two cops that were probably not catching speeders that night! hah! But my blood alcohol level was NIL, even after one drink and a buttload of valium. I know its not the same as lortab but its still a narcotic so I thought Id share.
