Lyrica Delirium

I need some help my friends. About six months ago, I fought a hard battle with suboxone. After two grueling months, I finally kicked the habit. Unfortunately, I did what many here have done and turned to one drug (Lyrica) to help me kick another. Now I am trying to kick Lyrica and achieve total victory. I was forced because of insurance to go cold turkey 2 days ago. It has been hell ever since. It is very different than sub withdrawal, but equally hellish. I guess my questions would be simply:

How long does Lyrica withdrawal last when compared to pain killer withdrawal?
Should I go back on the Lyrica and taper as my insurance will cover it again on Friday?

Thank you so much! Hang in there!

=)

I agree with tomskat. I'm a huge fan of tapering anything. Its much better for us...

The trick to tapering is to cut back small amounts over a long period of time. Don't rush it! You'll do fine so keep in touch and keep asking questions!

Hi there.Congratulations on the suboxone!! That is a feat in itself!!  I too was on Lyrica for a time. I recommend that you taper if possible. That will limit some of the withdrawls I think. I personally am not a fan of going cold turkey. I believe it is too dangerous, and much harder on your body than tapering. I know that some people believe that tapering only prolongs the process, but if done correctly it works better. But,that's my personal opinion. I'm sure some of the others will respond as well and give their input to your situation. I tapered myself from the Lyrica and it worked well for me. As you know the forum won't allow us to post tapering schedules. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with. ALways here. Stay strong and hang in there!!!
