METHADONE DETOX

WELL THE CLINIC IS GOING TO LET ME START DETOX SATURDAY JUST PROLONGING THE BEAST HAHA
BUT I AM JUST GOING TO BE A TROOPER BEING OFF OF HEROIN IS AWESOME BUT I WISH I WOULD OF FOUND THIS FORUM BEFORE I STARTED THE METHADONE, MAINLY BECAUSE I WOULD OF NEVER STARTED SOMETHING THAT IS GOING TO BE WORSE THEN THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM, HOWEVER I DID GO OUT AND BUT LOTS OF VITIMINS AND AM TRING TO PREPARE MY FAMILY FOR WHAT IS IN STORE, MY SIS IN LAW IS REALLY NERVOUS,BUT MY HUSBAND AND I ARE THREW-I WON'T EVER AGAIN TALK TO HIM RATHER HE IS IN JAIL,THE HOSPITAL OR REHAB HE CAN STAY.
BABBLING NOW BECAUSE THIS IS UNREAL NOONE ELSE WILL EVEN LISTEN TO ME EVERYONE ACTS LIKE I HAVE DONE THE ABSOLUTE WORSE,AND I STARTED ON VIKES 1 1/2 YEARS AGO, WENT RITE TO OXYS AND THEN HEROIN IT WAS CHEEPER AND EASIER TO SELL, THAT IS WHY I AM SO BROKE NOW, BECAUSE I AM NOT DOING THAT ANYMORE-I AM ONLY 36 DAYS OFF DOPE AND I RELAPSED 2 X'S BUT 20 DAYS STRIGHT NOW, BUT THE METHADONE IS GOING TO BE HARDER ACCORDING TO EVERYTHING I READ OR HAVE SEEN.
OKAY THANKS TO ANYONE WHO POSTED AND MADE SENSE OR MAYBE JUST SAID THAT 1 RITE THING TO MAKE MY DAY GO A LITTLE EASIER

Are they gonna taper you off the methodone?? I am confused by this detox thing...  You mentioned before that it was because you couldn't pay... can they just cut you off like that??  That sounds dangerous...

In my experience, it's not how much methadone you are on, but how long you have been taking it. I was on 85 milligrams for 2 1/2 years, then tapered to 25 mgms, then quit completely from 25 mgms. The first month was hell, and realized I needed to go to rehab. I was there 12 weeks, then 9 months in a recovery house. It took 6 months before I could sleep well. There was no way I could work. Yes, methadone is the worst, but everyone reacts differently to detox. One friend of mine was fine after 1 month, and he went back to work. Without rehab, I would have returned to methadone because the misery just lasted too long. 6 months is a long time. I knew methadone was the worst route to take, but I was broke and almost on the street. My parents had to bring me groceries because I was too weak and sick to make it to the store. They saved my life. I couldn't have gone thru treatment without their help. If you can't afford rehab, see if you can stay with a good friend who will support you.
