Marijuana use

i have smoked marijuana habitually for about six months after doing much research on the negetive side effects.  after finding that the side effects are minimal, i tried it and started using it more often.  after smoking for about 4 months i noticed that my mental state was in a way groggy, like everything was slowed down, and my reaction to things were slower and apathetic, even when i hadn't smoked in a week or so.  Is this effect permanent? is there a name for it?

i stopped about two weeks ago and am still feeling the same.  i do not plan on starting again.

You might feel this "fog" for awhile but it usually passes.  Can be really annoying while it is happening.  If it doesnt go away have yourself checked out.
