Yah, that's a rough levels of meds to get off, don't do it alone, be safe. Make a network to support a taper plan, not easy but I don't know that most people can quit there job and be gone that long. You're are brave, sounds like you are ready... Even if it's just to taper at chunks. But do it with help. Start taking vitamins, exercise a little... Reading. Good luck and stay strong
Hello and welcome. Yes that is an extremely high dosage of methadone. Xanax and methadone are both respiratory
And central nervous system depressants. They are very dangerous to take together.
With that being said you need to start to taper off of both meds. A proper taper will take about a year.
Are you seeing a counselor and attending support groups?
There is freedom from the chains and bondage of addiction.
Keep the faith.

I read your post and had to think a bit before to figure what to write. That's a pretty damn high dose of methadone and the xanex is a beast all on it's own. Have you ever tried to taper the methadone? I assume your going through a methadone clinic to get that dose so have they ever discussed starting to taper? I wouldn't jump from the dose that you're on b/c I feel like it's pretty damn high but there are people on this forum that will see this post and respond that know right where you're at. The xanex can NOT be stopped c/t either. I think you need to put a plan into place to start dropping mg of the methadone....but preferably with a doctors care. Good luck and keep posting as people will be on shortly.
