subutex and suboxone are both a form of bupenorphine, subutex is the purer one and has abuse potential, so it is usually only used for induction...suboxone has naloxone in it that if crushed, cooked and used by injection, somehow it is activated, so when you shoot it, it will make you severely sick, no abuse potential. this is why most are on suboxone...subutex can be abused and also has a high retail price on the street so a lot of $$$ can be made if your not really taking it, doctors dont like to prescribe this after induction.
both are made from buprenorphine, both are considered an opiate so both are addictive, but no high is associated with suboxone can be with subutex if abused, both are used to treat addiction and pain management...and it works!!!
Subutex is the pure form of the drug which, by the way, is an opiate but somehow blocks the receptors or something like that. Suboxone has another drug in it that is used to prevent addicts from taking more opiates while they are on it. When I first went to Pain Management my doctor put me on Subutex but the insurance would not pay for it. With Suboxone, if you take more opiates, they say you will go into immediate and extremely nasty withdrawals. I can't even have a beer while on Suboxone because it makes me sick the next day.
First off no question is a stupid question! We all have to learn one way or the other. I actually have a question, but its not really worth posting, what is the difference in suboxone and subutex? I know alot of ppl in my area that are on suboxone but noone on the other. Can anyone answer? Sorry to butt in on your post. . .
Jess.
Sorry and yes they are addictive.
They are being perscribed for pain by many addiction doctors Suboxone, Methadone, Subutex.
i'm using Sub for pain (and the addiction) and it helps 100x better than the vik's ever did...
If used properly it is a wonderful tool.
The Suboxone and the Buproprine(sp)?
Are you talking about Methadone and Suboxone?
