Meeting Number One, Forgiveness

Went to my first meeting today and met some great people...learned about forgiveness. Mainly forgiving yourself. God forgives your sin, all you have to do is ask, but I realized you must forgive yourself, too, or carrying around all that guilt, regret, and self-loathing will do nothing except force you down into that rabbit-hole of using to numb out that pain. That's what it means to me, anyway. I am trying to forgive myself for all the things I did to hurt myself, my family and my friends so that I can move on and setting down all that baggage will definitely make my journey easier....love to hear ya'lls thoughts on this subject.

i always felt that it wasnt my fault i mean it was my fault but yet it wasnt. ya kno? i really didnt know what u was doing the first few years and then whne i realized i didnt want to stop and then when i wanted to stop it was to late. so i dont know.
and  i really dont think that it was ever so much of a sin. i hope.

When I said sin, I was'nt really referring  to  the use as a "sin" persay, just kinda putting that alongside that whole forgiveness thing to show that we do deserve it, especially from ourselves and that God's inconditional forgiveness is a great example of that...I'm sorry, I didn;t i intend to say it was your fault or anyoine's I think it came out a little wrong....     :0)
