Methadone for Oxy Withdrawl?

Does Methadone work for Oxycotin withdrawl? If not what does work. I've heard zanax works, marijuana, hot baths, suboxone (which I tried with no success). So what does work. Most of us have either hid this addiction or can't afford to go into impatient treatment due to normal life such as school, work, etc.. THERE"S GOT TO BE A WAY......methadone possibly?

I wouldn't mess with Methadone. I was on it and it was hell getting off of it. Harder than Oxy. When I ween off, I smoke some weed. It doesn't do anything for the symptoms, but it's a distraction from the agony and it's calming.

From what I hear, going from Oxy's to Methadone is like going from the frying pan into the fire. Methadone withdrawal is suppose to be the worst so I would say thats not a good choice.  I am not totally against the methadone, it helped my brother get off the streets and get his life back.  My brother had many many problems, drinking, heroin, pain pills you name it.  The zanax does help if your going cold turkey, but you must be careful.  Take as little as possible and only to help sleep.  Sorry but I don't think there is any way out of this without doing some suffering. I went cold turkey and it was hell, but it is so worth it to get your life back.  Keep reading and posting it will help.   Mary
