Methadone sliding fee

I am looking at a few different methadone clinics in my area. Some have a sliding fee. Does anyone know how to determine the daily cost for a family of 4 with 37,000 a yr? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure we can discuss that on here.there will be others on that know more about rules.I do think most everyone here is trying to get off not on something.I myself am tapering off a 2 year methadone addiction in a program. It was supposed to be sliding scale but, after 2 months, when I was hooked,it went to 100.00 a week. Our income right now is only 1,000.00 a month.I would not recommend anyone to start it.The worst decision I ever made.we are in debt that I am finally seeing we might get out of.Never in all my drug years did I go in debt. Please research well before starting anything.I was told after I went to clinic that I should have never started.I was taking 3-5 tabs a day.never anything more.I should have went a different way.I dont know what your on or how much but,you may want to put that one here and get some advise from others that wd from the same.Good luck.

methadone wouldn't help you in withdrawal for Adderall.
you can go cold turkey from the vicodin and Percocet.
you can also do a taper. do you have someone who can dispense the
pills to you each day.
the Adderall will need to be tapered.
you doctor can help you with a taper plan.

Going on Methadone to get off something much weaker like the Hydrocodone and Oxycodone you're on now will be the biggest mistake of your life. Bigger than starting on the Vicodin and Percocet in the first place.

If you're tried weaning yourself off those drugs, and have found the withdrawals too difficult to handle, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Unless you've actually been addicted to Methadone and had to come off it, and I have, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into.

It's the very same mistake people make going on Suboxone to get off Hydrocodone or Oxycodone. They think they're getting an easy out, only to find themselves in a much worse predicament than they would have been coming off the drugs they were on to begin with.

It's your life, you're the one who has to live it, and you're going to do what you think is best no matter what, but mark my words. If you go on Methadone to get off the pills you're on now, you'll regret doing so sometime down the road and wish you had listened.

Bite the bullet and taper off the drugs you're on now, or at least get to a lower lever then go CT, and work some kind of aftercare plan to keep from relapsing. You'll be glad you did.

Thank you for everyone's advice and input. I am looking at alternatives to this treatment. I just really don't want to take any medication unless it's OTC. I have chronic migraines and currently being tested and going through several different pain relief options, mostly preventive. I have spoke with several doctors and everyone I speak to say adderall is harder to quit than drugs like cocaine, and the wd symptoms are more severe. So I was steered in this direction. Thank you all for responding and for the supportive information.

It seriously frustrates the he11 out of me that a methadone clinic would even accept somene with a Vicodin or Percocet habit. They're basically giving you a much stronger drug, with cheaper, easier, legal access. It's disgusting! And I'm sure the doctor or counselor didn't sit you down to explain to you how incredibly addicting it is!!! If you thought Vicodin w/d was bad... Multiply it by 10, and rather than it taking a week to w/d from; it will take months before you're feeling ok.
There has GOT to be a better option for you. I've been on methadone for almost 9 years and have been doing a taper for the last 7+ months and I STILL have months to go before I'm off completely. Then I get to look forward to feeling like sh$t for a few more months after that!
Shame on these clinics for not being more particular in who they allow into their program.
My advice... RUN in the opposite direction as fast as you can. I SO wish I would have came to this sight or had someone warn me before I ever made that call!

It will be worse getting off the methadone. I did it 5 years ago. And I just kicked a 10 10s perk habit.  It was easier with the perks. It will be hard but after a couple days it will get easier. The methadone stays in your system longer hence longer withdrawal time. I'm on day 16 and an feeling a lot better even went out a few times running around on the beach. (Sore from that lol) but let me tell u. It's not the way to go. Prayers for ya

What IBK was saying is that we don't discuss it in terms of getting ON it. We absolutely discuss it in terms of getting OFF it.

For a sub-set of addicts, usually IV users who are chronic relapsers, replacement therapy in the form of methadone or suboxone is a valid option. That said, there are many active posters right now who are trying to get OFF methadone and having a very hard time with it.

Methadone is a synthetic opioid with an extremely long half-life in the body, making withdrawals from it take significantly longer than almost any other opioid.

To switch from a mild vicodin/percoset habit like yours to methadone would be trading up to a much stronger drug. Instead of methadone, have you thought about kicking your addiction completely? There are 100s of active posters on here that quit and are in recovery. Is there anything in particular that's holding you back?

You can taper off of the pain medication much more easily than trying to get off of Methadone. You will regret your decision. Many here have successfully tapered.

Ah ok.. Didn't know that methadone was not discussed on this site.
I'm currently on Percocet and Vicodin. 8 a day of either one. I also have depression and ADHD and take Prozac and Adderall. I wanted to get off everything that I take & doing a methadone treatment so it would be easier to allow me to get off without relapsing, than wean off methadone to where I'm not taking it as well. Thanks for your response anyways...

This is a substance abuse community where we help each other get and stay clean. We do not promote Methadone and do not discuss it here. Sorry.

If you would like to get clean then you are in the right place. Methadone should not be an option for you. Tell us a little about your situation. I am sure we can make other suggestions.
