Methadone withdrawl

I have been taking oxycodone for about a year and then started taking small amounts of Methadone to come off it, but I have been taking small amounts of methadone (about 30mg a day) for about 6 months now seeing as it was reall helping with my chronic back pain I have. The problem now is we just found out I am pregnant and I stopped taking them as soon as I found out (2 days ago) but am having horrible withdrawl and was wondering if there was anything I can do to help this? Any information would be greatly appreciatiated since I have been a pain in the butt to be around and that is not fair to my husband or my other children, my older children can kiind of do their own thing but I have a almost 3 year old and an almost 2 year old that need me 24/7 and I am going crazy. I have learned my lesson though and once I gcan get through this I do not plan on ever taking opiates again, especially since addiction runs high in my family and I can see how it can ruin ones life. Sorry to ramble on any information would be great, thanks

Hey,

Oh Girl , I have been right where you are. Methadone withdrawls are the worst thing I have been thru in my entire life.  I had been on methadone about 5 years when I found out I was preggers.  I tried to just quit. on the third day with no methadone I went to my OB I just completely fell apart right there in his office. I was completly honest and told him that I was in withdrawls He told me to not be so hard on myself, and that quitting cold turkey while pregnant was the worst thing to do.  He kept me on a low dose thru out my entire pregnancy, and everything worked out fine.   I stayed on methadone for another 5 years after that, and about a month and a half ago I decided to switch to subutex.  If you need to talk Im here   ANYTIME   God Bless   AJ

Hi~  Please tell your OB about this right away.  Sudden withdrawal can cause miscarriage. Call first thing in the morning...This is the best advice you can get here.
All the best~
