I have found, in my quest for sobriety and recovery, that music is key for me. I know that alot of people listen to music without really listening to the lyrics...my fiance being one of them. For me, though, to hear someone sing (which I wish I could do) about life and hit on emotions I have is one of the most compelling and beautiful things in the world. I tend to listen to ALOT of John Lennon music. He was a tortured soul who found his way out of the depths of addiction and, I believe, was well into his "recovery" when his life was taken by that psycho, Mark Chapman. Listening to him sing "Cold Turkey" sends chills down my spine. There is another song, however, that I listen to periodically, that says so much. I thought I'd share those lyrics with everyone. The song is called "On a Clear Day" and these are the lyrics:
On a clear day
Rise and look around you
And you'll see who you are
On a clear day
How it will astound you
That the glow of your being
Outshines every star
You'll feel part of every mountain sea and shore
You can hear
From far and near
A word you've never, never heard before...
And on a clear day...on a clear day...
You can see forever...
And ever...
And ever...
And ever more. . .
Peace, all!
