maybe the lack of euphoria is what he is referring to.
I called today requesting my script be changed from 7.5 mg to 5 mg..same amount.
he asked why and I told him.
btw...I have kept the same dosing schedule..and I feel semi buzzed now...I guess my tolerance is going down.
WDing while I sleep is probably helping.
I have heard that morphine is about 3 times as strong as hydrocodone but not completely sure. I was on morphine in the past for back issues and I didn't get any euphoria from it so it worked well for me. But, everyone is different and morphine can be very addictive. I also didn't have withdrawals coming off of it but once again, everyone is different. I have read plenty of posts where people are addicted to it. Do you think you need anything that strong for surgery though? When I had my back surgery I was prescribed darvocet for pain. It didn't completely knock out the pain but did enough to get me by. Darvocet is one of the weaker opiate based pain meds but can also be addictive. Whatever you take just be sure to take it only for pain and only as needed. Just because it says take one or two every four to six hours it also says "as needed". The "as needed" is what us addicts never seem to see! It's amazing how fast our bodies heal. I was only on pain meds for about 5 days after surgery. At the time I didn't have a issue with pills though. It will also help to have someone hold on to the meds and dole them out to you. We have to be accountable to someone. We are much less likely to abuse our meds that way.
Best of luck to you and with your surgery.

Hi~I'm not sure...but is he talking about morphine while post op in the hospital? Or at home? Usually,MS isn't given to go home with after surgery when there are so many other drugs for pain...MS is pretty strong stuff. You should ask him to clear this up and maybe you could take 5mg hydros for post op pain only as needed.
