NORCO WITHDRAWLS

NORCO WITHDRAWLS

I have been taking Vicodin  and Nocrco for three years now. I take them for legitimate pain but I take a lot. I went through 240 pills in the last two weeks of norco. My next Dr. Appointment isn't for 3 weeks. I am really scared to go through the with-drawls. I have had them before, restless sleep, hot cold, very tired and no energy. What can I do to help the withdrawals? I have some SOLOQUIL and flexeril. What is the best home remedy I can do. Someone please help. I know if I make it thought the withdrawals I wont use  again. I just want to feel normal without have to use. I would almost rather deal with the pain then feel like I do when I don't take my meds.

Thank you

maybe go to your doctor and be honest. tell him you want to stop. tell him that you'd like to have some meds to help with withdrawals. or if you can handle it tell him you want to do a taper schedule. everyone recommends the thomas recipe and the amino acid protocol bottom right of page. but if you have a good doctor and you're honest that will probably be the best way to go......good luck and there's lots of support here. read the posts and it will probably help you feel a little better.....

Thank you for the help. I don;t think I can do the recipe. And as far as the taper, I have no more meds and wouldn't be able to ask for more. I couldn't tell my doc I took 240 in two weeks. I am very private about this addiction. Like I said. I have legitimate pay but have been abusing. Mosltly just to wake up and feel normal. Ar there any other ways to help? I am desperate. I can't rely on these drugs anymore. I just want to feel normal. How long will W/Ds last? what can I expect to feel like?

I know it's hard but if you have a good doctor they will help you and they can give you medicine that can make the withdrawals a little better. It's different for everyone but totally cold turkey w/ no help will be the hardest and you'll feel like the worst flu ever for a few days, maybe more..... please consider asking your doctor for help.

I just posted something very much the same as you.  Without help you will be very, very sick.  I went to my doctor and brought my mom with me and told him that I have started to abuse the pills and taking too much. They are use to this for this is one of the most common addictions in recent years.  I had 240 norco every 3 weeks and would get more other ways.  He was so so supportive and hooked me up with a detox doctor who helped me go through a 7 day at home detox with help of meds and some use subvoxin.  Oppiat addiction is one of the hardest to quit so please listen to TRMs_wife and get help.  It was hard even with the help of my doctor and lots of medication.  It has been 6 days since I finished the home detox program and I still do not feel great but much better.  I need to be available mentally for I have to small boys and my 4 year old is special needs.  Good Luck. Also, you may want to look into some sort of program like NA or AA for the cravings are still strong for me and I could not do it without the help of the people in the NA rooms.  They have been so supportive and many had the same problem.  PS I also have chronic pain but need to find another way to deal with it. the pain meds stopped working anyway for the pain and just helped with the stress.   Love Scootch

OH I am so happy for you.  Seeing how you are all out of meds you can see if you can be seenn on an urgent basis for you will start to get sick in 6-12 hrs.  My doctor gave me one refill a week so he could monitor me until I could see the detox dr and not get to sick.  Cutting back to 8 norco a day was not fun but I was able to do it. Let me know how it goes.  There is no reason to be ashamed.  When I went in my blood pressure was so high they were nervous but I was just so scared to come clean.  After my appointment it was nice and low.  I felt so much better.

I am very scared.  I have to children as well. I feel like have only been taking the meds so I wont with drawl. I fee like I can't tell him that I took them all already. He already seems like he would get upset. I have an appt on the third but that is still six days away. What can I do to help the withdrawls? I have two norco left. Can a break them up to last a couple days? To at least get the med in my body? I am really scared. What can I expect? I have some seroquil and Flexiril will that help in anyway? How long will it take to dry up cold turkey?

good for you to make that appt!!! I would tell them what happened and see if they can see you sooner, because in all honesty if you go through that many days you'll probably be done with withdrawal. maybe even go down to your doctors office to talk to them. demand do whatever you have to do to make them understand how urgent it is. but I am so proud of you to take that step. I hope you have a good doctor because if you do you will feel a huge weight lift off your shoulders when you come clean about what's been going on.

i guess u were taking about 170mg  or 17 pills a day?   240 10 mg pills in 14 days would equal that...high dose but do-able...have u quit yet?   a week is a good estimate..less for some and more for others..i was at 100 mg a day and physically felt better in 4 days..everyone is different and alot depends on health and age etc..also on support u get and determination..attitude also means alot as a negative attitude will sink u quicker than the runs!  if u put ebverything in ur corner and get prepared/have a game plan with a goal...u can do this...read up in the health pages for help on quitting..the thomas recipe helps brain repair and anxiety etc....keep posting

Ok, I'm not sure if you are looking for ways to get you to your next appointment or ways to help you get clean?  Are you ready to quit?  Have you had enough of this yet?  You say you don't think the thomas recipe will work for you?  It is one of the most simple plans to follow my friend?  Bottom line is, even getting to your next appointment you will have gone through the worst of withdrawls?  What then?  Are you going to come clean with him?  If you don't you'll be in this same boat in another couple weeks.  We all began taking opiates for legitimate pain, and many here have chronic pain that we decide to deal with in different ways because we know what its like to be a slave to a damnn botlle, or pill.

Take a multivitamin daily.  Be prepared to take hot showers or baths....several a day....get some immodium.....the seroquel will help you sleep....reach out to whoever you can to support you through this time.  It will be physically bad the first 4-5 days.  Mentally and emotionally, it may be longer.  Find someone you can talk to about what you're experiencing.  Come here to us if you need to.

Once you get the your appointment, make the right choice, and tell the doctor what's going on.  Don't get another bottle of pills!

Hi again,  I do not know about the meds you asked about but flexeral is a muscle relax med. I can not give you medication advice but really it seems worse and  more scary than it actually turned out to be for me.  I was pretty sick for about 3 days even with the medication they gave me to detox  and I am sure you have had a bad flu longer than that.  My energy is still low but it has only been 6 days since I finished the detox.  Now I think I have the real flu for I felt so good and now feel bad again and my 6 year old started go get sick during the night.  My doctor said the symptoms can come and go depending on triggers like stress.  For me I am not able to sleep much so she gave me some non narcotic for I flushed the valium after a few days.  Like the other post said you have to really want to stop.  I have real chronic pain but decided enough is enough.  Support is very important.  I felt so much better after I went to an NA meeting.  It felt like medication.  My family helped me with my kids during my detox but it sounds like you have been keeping your problem secret.  I just told the people close to me and my husband already knew I had a problem so was happy that I decided to get help. So he stepped it up.   How old are your kids?  Mine are 4 and 6 but my 4 year old is special needs so it was huge having help. Now I feel so much more here even though I still am not sleeping much but it will keep getting better and some nights I sleep and some I do not but we are parents so that is how it goes.
