Naltrexone Implants for Amphetamine Addicts??

Naltrexone Implants for Amphetamine Addicts??

My boyfriend is a long time methamphetamine and Valium user (dabbled in other things, but meth was the only SERIOUS issue.  We have only recently come across being told about Naltrexone Implants being effecive only for withdrawl (withdrawal) symptoms and/or if he uses meth, it "won't be the same".  Today is 7 days clean for him and he will go to rehab this weekend for an anticipated 3 months.  If I thought the last few months have been hell with this addiction, it doesn't carry a candle to the monster he has turned into for these last 7 clean days.  Is there anyone out there who knows more about amphetamine addicts and Naltrexone Implants?  I appreciate Naltrexone is primarily used for heroin addicts and alcoholics, however, my boyfriend can't be the only meth addict who has been given this implant....and there doesn't seem to be anyone either of us can relate to  or discuss what he's going through on this one.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

sorry no one knows anything about this, I detoxed off of methamphetamines years ago and all i did was eat ding dongs and slept for a week.  The rehab should get him the help and therapy he needs to stay clean and totally staying away from all of the friends he knows that do the drugs is the only way to stay clean.  I have never heard of naltrexone, maybe you should google it and find out what the withdrawal from that is and it it is even worth trying.  Good luck!!
