A very interesting thing to research is LDN therapy. Do a search on Google. It is low dose Naltrexone. It ups the immune system and dramatically increases the endorphin levels. Any Dr can prescribe but few know about it.

Naltrexone is primarily used right now for the treatment of Alcoholism either via implant or injection.  Research is showing that naltrexone may be very useful in the treatment of opiates, cocaine, heroin etc.  But that is somewhere down the road.  I've never heard of the gambling thing, but u never know.
