Natural Sleep Remedies for people NOT wanting to take "medication"

Trypyophan or Melatonin are the top two holistic herbs.  You can buy it at your local health food store. It is all natural and non addictive. Melatonin is a natural chemical in your body, and Tryptophan is what is in  Turkey that makes you sleepy. Also, try lavendar lotion. Take a warm bath with epsom salt (helps detox muscles) put on the lotion and lay in bed. The scent of lavender is a relaxent. Camomile is also a relaxant/sleep aid. Try drinking camomile tea while taking your bath. A very good one is called "sleepy time tea" by Celestial; it is available at Wal-Mart or the health food store. I was raised holistic, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Since I am still going through detox, I do not want to put anymore chemicals into my body. I also do not want to take the chance of changing from an addiction to Vicodin to something else. Lastly,( at the health food store again) is Sage which was used by the Indians as a pain reliver. Make sure to buy pure sage. I burn sage insence and smelling it helps with my pain. May today bring you health and prosperity!

Good post! Great information for all those who are having trouble sleeping. I know for me that was the worst part of my wd. I love my sleep and ill take whatever i can get. And i certianly was not about to start taking a narcotic sleeping agent. Thanks for the info
