Nausea???

I had been off all Narcs for about 9 days and then started back on them this past Monday, and ever since I have felt nauseaus. Has this happened to anyone else and if so what is going on? OR is this something completely unrelated?

Thank you!

sometimes when people stop and start back it is just never the same again..since u r hoping it will be then perhaps this will pass and u will be the first person on earth to use as prescribed/responsibly/ post addiction..maybe the second!  be safe..i think sometimes the body rebels and is just almost poisoned by them and when u use again it just doesnt feel right ....i used after a procedure and i felt awful the whole 4 days...sick...flushed em/ sometimes u just cant back track to when they made u feel good....good luck and do stay safe...if/when u get back up to the 20 a day again please post so u can get off again..usually relapse is worse and the pill intake goes even higher...ur body is telling u not to put those pills in it anymore....listen to ur body....if u r a chronic pain patient then perhaps ur doctor can work with ut to get u  on something that will stabilize ur pain withoput having to take 20 pills..please be safe

Hi blues, you might want to check my post. I weaned down to one norco 10 325 in 1/4s
spaced throughout the day, this from 5 sometimes six a day for 2 1/2 years. Well, got
awful nausea once down to 3/1/2 per day. I thought it was a stomach virus ( which might have been an opportunistic complication ). My primary care phys gave me fenergan and zantak after I had blood tests. Since I felt so bad, I thought why not keep weaning ( accupuncture had largely eliminated my back pain and started healing). I thought taking 1/4 norcos four times a day was really doing nothing, so I quit last night.

Huge difference today. My nausea is far reduced, though appetite or eating, forget about it. The difference is my head is pretty foggy.  Joe zombie. And when I went walking, seemed awkward and somewhat uncoordinated.  Obviously I took the day off. And I'll take off as much as I need. So I guess I'm saying ( being far far far from experienced )  that nausea was a factor in my withdrawal and it stuck with me even whern I got down to a small dose. The fenergan and zantak really help as does melotonin when I want to sleep.  Hope that info helps!

I do feel that prilosec will work better than pepto, and if the pepto worked initially I would say to try the Prilosec ---- How are fluids? I would remind you that its easy to get dehydrated when you have loose stools and arent eating or drinking properly. Dehydration is much more serious than many realize. Stay away from acid (citric, tomato, etc) and caffeine....try white grape juice and warm flat 7-Up.......push fluids- especially water......and good luck!!!

I have been taking pepto-bismol and it seemed to help initially, but not enough. During the nine days off I barely ate...I probably lost 10 or more pounds...these past few days I have tried to eat things like toast , crackers, etc but I still feel sick! Do you think Prolosec would work better than Pepto? Thank you so much for your concern!

Have you tried anything like prilosec? Immodium for loose stools and emetrol for upset stomach? Look at the right hand side of page...find the Health Pages - then find the Thomas Recipe..and the Amino Acid Protocol -- these both are very good for withdrawals. I hear you say that you arent ready to quit and are waiting for pre-op stuff before you make firm decision....Your approach could certainly give you the basic acid reflux number in the stomach ---  I would say to try the prilosec first....that would hopefully help first thing. Keep posting and asking until we find the right answer though.....And about diet - I could never even eat in that shape..How are you doing in that respect? Maybe some toast or crackers would be in order? You should restabilize again within several days since you are back at a good dose....

The nine days w/o were horrible...all the classic symptoms, missed work for a week. I ran out of my meds because I was taking too many. I do have a legit reason for taking them, so I was not planning on quitting just yet (although once I find out if I need surgery, etc) then I will plan my detox. Mentally I am not ready to stop now...so anyway, I am only supposed to take 8 per day, so I am going to try and stick to that...all the other w/d's have gone away and in fact I never felt nausaus during the nine days w/o, I was just cold/hot, tired, diarehha, horrible back pain...well all that is gone but now I feel so nauseaus and I hate this feeling. I hope that helps claify!

Lay this out with a little more clarity here...were taking up to 20 per day - 4 per dose --- then clean 9 days? - and then 8 per day at 2 per dose? You may possibly be still withdrawing from that regimine....and 8 probably wont keep those symptoms away....How were the 9 days without? Something isnt meshing properly for me here ....

See I wondered if that may be true, but before I was up to about 20/day...usually @ 4 per dose...now I am taking 8/day, 2 at each dose...do you think that is too much? I just feel awlful...

You may be taking a bit too much for your situation....pretty common error we make with dosing. Dont need as much if you are 9 days clean.....Think about that one...it makes you nauseaus ...........
