Need Answer about Suboxone ASAP

I am on suboxone and taking 16 mg a day. this will be my 5th day. I started out slow and worked up to full dose yesterday. I was extremely tired after my 8 o'clock does. Which also I have been tired anyway becuase I haven't been sleeping well. The Dr. gave me lunestra also but I haven't taken any yet. I preferred to get used to the Sub first. I have probably only had about 10 hr sleep since last Sunday. I noticed today that my pupils are small, not pin head or nothing but small. Is this a side effect from the Suboxone. I drove home from my sons house yesterday and I could see and everything but it felt sort of strange when cars come up from behind on my left side. I was totally aware of everything going on. I just want to make that clear. I am a nervous type of person anyway and can exaggerate an illness if I read to much about it. Probably why I turned into an addict, so I could relax. Anyways I feel so much better since the suboxone. I have energy and my body is not aching anymore. Actually I feel pretty darn good. I never thought it possible to feel good until this suboxone. All the literature written on suboxone gives it this evil tone on one side and good on the other side if you read through the **** if you can get to the good side. OH well I will quit dragging on. Once again I stayed up all night long and it is about time for my next dose. My pupils are still a little small compared to usual. Anyone have any input this early in the AM. I am going to call the hear to help line when it opens. Just need to take that next does.

Hi Janet,

No need to worry, you are doing great.  I was on suboxone for nearly 4 years and it saved my life.  I felt great on suboxone from the first hour.  To answer your question, suboxone is an opiate, so it will constrict your pupils, this is completely normal.

It appears that you are taking more than just one dose per day, I would asume 8mg in the morning and 8mg in the evening.  You may want to talk with your doctor about this.  Suboxone has a very long half life (37.5 hours) and it is designed to dose only once every 24 hours.  I fail to understand why docs prescribe multiple doses per day.  I never took more than one dose per day and never had any kind of problems.  Taking only one dose per day helps with the obsession for taking that next dose - just once in the morning and you are good to go.  It really helps with the drug seeking behavior - no more counting the pills to make sure you have enough to last until your next refill.

I also agree with the comment from Colleen - you are in need of some good sleep.  Don't worry about the suboxone adjusting, the lunesta will not hurt you and if your sub doctor prescribed it, you should be good to go.  If you feel you need it, definitely take one tonight, it should help you get a full night's sleep and you will definitely feel better in the morning.  Keep moving forward and keep posting, I would love to hear how you are progressing.  Feel free to message me if you have any direct questions, I am happy to share anything about my experience with sub.  Have a great holiday weekend!

i was on sub for a 7 day taper, and oh yeah it helped cause i was in full wd. But i did a quick taper and felt bad for about 3 days. Not near the bad from cold turkey though. Just be careful, bc that stuff is addicting too. Before you get on it too long, id ask to go ahead and start tapering now. The longer u wait the harder it will be imo. As far as the pupils, i have no idea. I never looked at mine.
